I doubt the top 6 are bricking it ... I doubt the clubs just below are  yet on here some are going on like they’re going to be top 6 contenders without a takeover even happening yet

To be honest, we have more than enough to contend with ourselves and have never been as far away from the top flight so let them crack on with whatever they're cracking on with. As long as they're not winning things, of course

They spend a small fortune in the club shop, have seen that myself. But yes, you are probably right, unlikely to have flown in especially for the likely 0-0 extravaganza that follows.
You're a mag aren't you? If you are and this sale gans through, do you think the awabs will go for a big name manager?

The big lad has had his day tbf and I reckon he would ruin you if he's allowed to spend big.

Must admit I always thought they'd struggle to get a massive buy out because they don't own their own ground and, as far as I know, don't have much in the way of land that they own either. Makes expansion fairly difficult, especially with the ground slap bang in the city centre. Football-wise you'd be buying a big club with a big support but there's a fair few of them around. If genuine it'll be interesting to see how they do mind, much though I'll obviously hope they win nowt. I do know that nowadays to make money you need Champions League and they're probably half a billion or more away from that, so they need to hope there's just a random rich bloke with more money than sense who fancies trying to replicate man city and Chelsea for a laugh.

A reporter in the middle east said that the interested group are nowhere near the wealth of Sheikh Mansour but still wealthy. If anything it will be much of an improvement compared to Ashley. The reporter mentioned similar to the Leicester owners. The only caution he mentioned was that GFH Capital (different ownership), based in Dubai who bought Leeds lasted 2 seasons before selling. He also mentioned these links with Mbappe and Neymar etc were pie in the sky as if anyone would think that anyway except the mags.

Im not saying that at all I never mentioned top 6. My point is that they have all the building blocks in place a good manager, big support all that's missing is the team to compete

Course they are people on here need to take those red and white tinted specs off

Yes I hate the fuckers with a passion I hope they get beat every week but I'm honest to admit that they are a prime club for a takeover

Of course they are, they're a club without third party debt and a massive fan base. Mind, the fan base don't help themselves when it comes to attracting owners with their appreciation of the current one

Although their fan base is a selling point, it’s a bit overplayed unless they can increase ticketing revenue.

Unfortunately for them they will only get one free hit at spending 200m (if true) before FFP catches them. After that they will need to quickly increase revenue or face restrictions on what they can spend.

The new owners could cash in quickly by hiking up season cards by say £200-400, but will that price out normal fans? Sponsorship could be an easy way to increase revenue, but they’d struggle to get the deals that City landed to help bend FFP.

That said, if they are taken over, it should be a very exciting summer for Newcastle, but they need to be realistic. Mind, the Chronicle doesn’t help that. Posting stories about Mbappe ffs

Very true, it’s barely mentioned on the BBC site, even the gossip column isn’t mentioning the takeover. The likes of Wolves may be concerned about a bit of competition, but the top 6 probably couldn’t give a sh!t about it.

You’ve practically described Sunderland, except we also have a modern stadium which can be expanded to over 60k, modern training facilities and are available for around a seventh of the price. All that is missing is the team to compete, throw £100m at it and we could easily be a premiership club in a couple of year and they could save £200m to invest when we get there.

If you want a ‘world class’ manager, you just have to throw money at him because let’s face it, Rafa is only there for the £6m a year he’s picking up.
