Twice in 7 top flight seasons is accurate and reflects that we're not a steady Prem team. 2 in 13 seasons could be 11 seasons between relegations and that would be a steady Prem team.
Ok then you're a shit Prem club if it makes you happy.

Not massively happy, but who the fuck is happy with their club at the minute?

Just curious, how was Bruce in the Cups for you lot? Guessing you weren't as fortunate with the opposition as we've been, but did he do well?

Shite, sure one game (might of been Brighton) he played 4-6-0 formation.

He’ll never get a bad press.Too many pals in the media.

The gall of Bruce to say to the press that the reason Sunderland and Newcastle fans were complaining about his football is because they've got lofty expectations. Or that the major reason you lot wanted him out was because he's a Geordie. Always somebody else's fault. The fat fraud.

You can only play and hopefully beat what is put in front of you.
Are we really lucky to be in the quarter finals and playing Brentford?
It depends which way it's looked at, because even the bigger teams pout out a lot of youngsters/fringe players, whereas the lower league teams generally put out their strong line ups and treat each game as their cup final.

Quality may overcome lesser quality on paper but it doesn't always pan out on that pitch.
We're still in it because we had a go.

What gets me is the whining of many Newcastle fans on forums who are claiming Bruce got lucky.

Look at the state of this drivel from supposed Newcastle fans.

mate they’re a pain in the area. Twitter was full of so called fans who were gutted we won.

I am, quite a lot actually.

we’ve a team and manager who give 100% and don’t know when their beat.
We’ve had a good start to the season, 1 loss in 6 and 1/4 final of a cup.
Bruce has bought decent and we’ve good flair options in St Maximum.
I’m as happy currently as I have been in years.

I don't think Bruce is very good. Just broadly the same as Rafa was but better in the cups. It's still amusing how Rafa is looked on as some sort of visionary, tactical genius when he was no better than that plank.

Net spend.

I love the argument they make about Joelinton. Its clearly unfortunate for Bruce when 40million was spend on a shocking footballer the day after Bruce came through the door and Perez and Rondon both much better players went out the door. However that doesn't matter to them as it shows Bruce was backed and Rafa wasn't

I'll bet Bruce wishes he had Perez and Rondon and wasn't backed.

I think the Mags were lucky last season like, seemed to get a lot of undeserved results, it's continued into this season with the Spurs game. I think they're among the 3 worst PL teams in terms of performance, whether that plays out in results is another matter.

I've heard that argument but there's different ways to get to 40 odd points. They will look really poor from time to time but they are allowed to play with freedom and they do have some good attacking or creative players such as Shelvey, Wilson, Fraser, Saint maximum even Almiron  I always think they will have awful runs but have some good spells where they accumulate enough points.

Spot on.

They had a good spell, points wise,at a crucial time last season,up to and including the Southampton game, where they were again very fortunate to pick up 3 points, which just about left them secure from relegation.

You've had quite an easy start to the season.
