Newcastle Manager Situation

Another manager in the mould that they like. One who has had success but ages ago and now comes with a battered reputation. Reputations tend not to be rebuilt at the pit that is st james'

This appointment has a Felix Magath feel to it. Both men whose best days in this industry are behind them, both look like comedy TV characters, and both are used to fighting at the other end of the table and probably don't know what it takes to fight in a relegation scrap

Be afraid.... Be very afraid...

On a serious note, we are f***ing monumentally shit. This game has the potential to be really really shit. I hope atleast its entertaining and not two teams shitting themselves.

The last 6 (six) have been entertaining, and only one team has had the look of a quivering mess!!
Guess which one?

Mags + false hope = 0-3

Just look at how confident they were when they thought they'd turned a corner by putting 6 past Norwich
I'm not confident in the slightest, they are in poor form, we are in decent form but not getting wins, have a solid enough manager who i do have a bit faith in and on paper we have a better defence and striker than them.
for those reasons i do feel the same as i did before the 5-1 game, everything going right for one side and wrong for the other doesn't fill me with confidence, we are Sunderland after all and its typical Sunderland to fuck it up.

Gerrin love Luke Edwards me ;)

As things stand McClaren hasn't been sacked, Benitez remains in Liverpool & still hasn't talked to Charnley Both things need to change #nufc

Ok, I'll make a deal. Nobody say anything about Rafa Benitez or Steve McClaren for 24 hours because I've never seen so many journalists..And I include myself in this, get so much wrong about one story in all my time in sports journalism. It's not our fault. Honest.

I wouldn't say worried but it would be better for us if it didn't happen and deprive them of the possibility of a little new manager bounce.

I'm always concerned about things happening because statistically they are due to happen even though things look slightly better for us on the field.

I think Sam will be desperate to avoid defeat and will set us up accordingly, and the result will be a draw.

Deal. And I didn't know you were a sports journalist.

Yes, they obviously haven't been playing for Steve so any manager change has the potential to lift them. We've known ourselves what can happen, it saved us. As long as they keep losing though the better.
