Whatever happens in the final The Mag will have an article about the outcome. If we win it will be 'look how small time Sunderland are celebrating a tin pot trophy win.' If we lose it will be 'Haha Sad Mackems couldn't even win the tin pot cup etc'
I am sorry if I got that wrong. I was quoting a figure I saw earlier this season. I think you got a 48000 gate on Boxing day plus another 40000+ gate since then, both phenomenal gates for this level, so that will obviously have put the average up. When you see gates like that it is a wonder that clubs such as Accrington Stanley compete at the same level, and more than hold their own. We played Rochdale in an evening game and they had 69 visiting supporters which some people found derisory. I personally see them as the magnificent 69, real supporters. Clubs such as Rochdale & Bury are right on the doorstep of Manchester United & City so it must be very difficult for them to survive. Sunderland is a bit bigger city than Portsmouth but the catchment area down here is quite large. The nearest club to Pompey is Southampton to the West (about 15 miles down the road) and Brighton to the East (50 miles away). The border lines of the surrounding area are very defined though to which team you would support. The rivalry between Portsmouth and Southampton is very deep seated and goes beyond football. I know there are rivalries all round the country with yours being Newcastle and local derbies are very intense but I bet there are not many more bitter than the Pompey v Southampton games. I am prattling now aren't I so I better go.You may want to check that figure, you’re about 4K out!
We know what to do.![]()
Because they said it was. In their parallel universe that makes it true. How was it embarrassing for us when we beat their kids 4-0 without breaking sweat?![]()
Fact is, it’s the final of a domestic trophy that will probably attract a near 80k crowd at Wembley, it’s on TV and the mags are jealous as fuck however much they claim otherwise.
How did he vote though?Well done Solskjaer as Bailly was playing as if he'd been pulled out of the fans in the crowd!![]()
