Absolutely bound to happen eventually. Ashley has been there over ten years, is short of £300m he might have done something better with, has had endless abuse from idiots and will take a decent offer.
Not happening till they go down. And it will be a cut price deal, Ashley will lose money. Would love them to get a loon. Change there kits to red and white stripes to piss them off.

I’d love to see a rich loon buy them and spend big, mega big on absolute shite.

Have them Lord it up for a few weeks then see it all come crashing down as administration and bankruptcy takes them down the leagues.

I don’t see him selling on the cheap. He’s the sort of businessman who won’t take a loss. He’s into them for around £240-£250 million factoring in the purchase price and the loans and if he did sell up then he will want those loans repaid.

As long as that club is profitable then there’s no incentive for him to sell.

Exactly. Parachute payments and Ashley will have them on Sky every other game. Not to mention 52000 screaming non boycoutters still turning up.

In the grand scheme of Ashley's empire NUFC is like the old classic car at the back of the garage with a dust sheet on it.

Worth a fair bit but costing very little as it stands. You know it has potential but it needs more attention than you have time for.

You might get round to it one day or flog it if you get a decent offer but it can just sit there for the time being ....
... there are bigger and better things to occupy your time and money.

As things stand, as far as I've heard, there are no serious talks ongoing and no reports even on the 'desperate for any actual news channels'.

Newcastle are officially up for sale but not an attractive proposition.

HMRC investigation ongoing, bottom of the league, players fighting in training, new manager to find, supporters protesting about net spend, poor overpaid squad, etc, etc.

The other problem that was mentioned was that there's no money to be made from the stadium for a new owner. It's unsaleable and needs a major renovation. West Ham, Man City, etc found buyers because they could 'balance the books' with the sale of their ground. The lad who explained this to me left me floundering to understand all the jargon, if @Grumpy Old Man had been there it would've been better. I just ended up with a glazed look and nodding like a Mag at a Greggs window.

Shame as I won't be seeing the lad again having now left the job with the Sheikh ... my brief period of ITK days is over
