Even 7 points won't drag them far from the bottom...... but those run of games will be the acid test for them. I think they'll get 4 points by beating Brighton and a draw at Southampton and losing the next 3.

I wasn't being overly serious though mate

Looking at December they might get to the half way stage with around 16 points assuming they do get 7 from those early few games, they'll be entrenched by then and will need something of a miracle (Ashley to spend some money or a new manager) to get out of it.

Just had a look at the table, not great reading for them but they've got an absolutely huge couple of months coming. Before end of November they've got:
Brighton (h)-3
Southampton (a)-1
Watford (h) - 0
Bournemouth (h) - 0
Burnley (a) -0

In theory they're all games that you'd try and target 3 points from. If they're still in the bottom 3 after that run of fixtures then they'll likely go down unless they get big investment in January. I think they'll pick a few points up from those fixtures though, still be a long old season for them mind

That’s a best case scenario. Even 4 points is a big ask.

If they don’t beat Brighton, the fat lass from Byker will be getting ready to sing.

One of the things we’ve learned in the last few years is that once you’re in that rut, it doesn’t matter what your upcoming fixtures look like. It’s hard to get rolling.

Dunk called up to the England squad. Lascelles continues to be overlooked. Why am I not surprised? Also, name one current England midfielder who played better than Shelvey yesterday. Anyone? Guess it keeps them fit for us then. Their loss.

got to be a wind up?

The mags can't have it both ways, one minute there saying that benitez hasnt the players to do well, the next they're saying that some of their players should be playing for England

I’d be surprised if they didn’t take at least 10pts from those games. That said, if they don’t beat Brighton, alarm bells will be ringing

As has been said, by @mr chuckles and others, the Newcastle squad has some good players brought in by Benitez and praised by the supporters.

I very much doubt the Newcastle supporters would swap their players with any of the next 5 teams they're about to play.

The Bournemouth squad is largely built of players like King who was drifting around and failing to play games or score goals.
While Benitez can't seem to find anyone to score goals Eddie Howe brings in an unknown who is now scoring around 1 in 3 for club and country ...
... could that be anything to do with tactics and coaching I wonder.
Whatever the case Howe has a very ordinary group of players in 5th, scoring more goals than Liverpool or Spurs and conceding less than 'build from the back Benitez'.

I wonder where Benitez would have that team.
