Imagine if you're a potential buyer for the club, looking at all that. You'd know that you'd be in for exactly the same treatment unless you stumped up daft money every season.

Do they honestly think that what they're doing casts their support in a good light?
Daft money, or just compete with those around us?

Nobody is asking for crazy Man City money, just compete to give us a fighting chance of improving with the talented manager hopefully bridging the gap a bit further.

Ashley made a rare TV appearance to say he won't spend what it would take to compete at the top end of the table.

The extra income doesn't justify the expenditure in his opinion.

So that's that until the club is sold ... he couldn't have been any clearer.

So the £96.26 that Benitez has already spent is well spent money?

No he didn't he said he couldn't compete financially with the likes of Man City etc... but that every penny generated by the club would be available to the manager.

Lets just assume for a second we didn't get that injection of TV money to spend on players for a second, we actually made a 20 million profit in the last transfer winfow, so whatever way you look at it, the manager has been lied to, hes brought in what he could under the restraints that were given to him.

How can a manager plan his budget, and scout players when he has no idea what his budget will be and is lied to about money he will or wont have?

In regards to players bought and sold, more have been hits than misses, and the ones that have been shite we've recouped most of our money on, its the gamble you take when signing players, for any club in the world.

There was a general consensus amoung the fans towards the back end of the window that we would have been happy with spending the 22 million Mitrovic transfer cash on players and breaking even.

Couldn't even manage that could old Mike, good owner though.

they play palace on saturday, they finished above them last season and spent more than them in the summer, lets see what happens

Palace had and still have a better squad than us, its credit to the togetherness of the squad and the ability of our manager that we finished where we did.

I suspect the more sensible and realistic silent majority of their supporters realise and fully understand that this is the reality of the situation.
The more vocal and frankly lunatic fringe however are a whole other kettle of fish.

Are you ignoring increased wages, the cost of Benitez, agents fees, other costs, etc?

Keegan won 2 million in compensation in a court of law while proving that Ashley and his cronies are liars, but now all of a sudden hes a saint because the bitter mackems say so

Two leagues above yet you still give us a laugh.

If he had anything about him, he should have walked.

If he really is 'world class', clubs would be lining up for his services.

Nah, you got that wrong. We're not bitter at all, we're actually having a good laugh.
