Not sure why you keep implying that Murphy was bought for the bench. He's a young kid bought for his potential and to make appearances as and when it's appropriate. And even if he had spent £20m on squad players, that doesn't mean he has no pressing need for first team players at all. It's nonsense.

I'm assuming you mean Mitrovic, who today was quoted as saying he couldn't be effective in Benitez's system because he'd have to run around too much. Also, comparing Mitrovic scoring goals in the Championship and Mo Salah is f***ing hilarious.

Your retort to my stating that Newcastle are defensively sound is to just make stuff up? 4 humpings out of 5? :lol: Why lie?

I'm not sure you fully grasp the concept of a 'squad'

11 players start the game. ... Then during the course of the game, substitutes are introduced ~ whereby certain individuals are withdrawn.

So the 'bench' player becomes a 'first team' player. ..

PL football these days is all about having a decent squad of at least 18-20 top players that can be rotated and account for injury, tiredness or loss of form of individuals.

Without the ability to do this any PL club is knackered.

After a few years in the job, Benitez has figured this out.

Can you clarify your point? It seems to be that Murphy (right winger) should not have been signed because Newcastle loaned Kenedy (left winger)?

Benitez would like to stay at Newcastle and will continue to do what he thinks it best for the club until he goes. That Mike Ashley is a miserly owner won't detract from that. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous.
