It's all relative. We were a regular top-half side who more often that not competed in European competition before Ashley rocked up, now we're a struggling/yo-yo side.

Decrease vs decrease. See?

That was a long time ago in footballing terms, most of the present Premier League clubs were nowhere near the top league at that time. Most of the lower half clubs are small lean and based in the south. Your Club has suffered the same as ours been based in the north east. After a few decent Seasons Your club was burning money to attract players offering high wages for average plodders. Where would you be now if Ashley hadn't bailed you out back then..

Yes, what else could it mean?

3, 6, 2, 2 13, 13, 11, 11, 4, 3, 5, 14, 7, 13,

vs

12, 18(R), N/A, 12, 5, 16, 10, 15, 18(R), N/A, 10

Do you see the difference now?

Perfectly put. And tells the full story.

Someone else would have taken us over and we'd be as decorated as Man City.

See, I'm going to reach for this daft speculative hypothetical whereas you're going to lean towards absolute oblivion. Both are total conjecture.

Didn't see many mags complaining 2 seasons ago when silly amounts of money was spent to get your lot out of the league. But true to form your lot will rewrite history no doubt...

Maybe because certain things that were agreed were being fulfilled (so no complaints). It’s all fallen apart since January 2017 though.

We don’t expect him to spend shitloads of money, just what as agreed. It’s not that hard to understand but keep reaching for the hyperbole if you want to continue.

Doesnt upset me marra, but you have a fresh start on Saturday and it was a pleasant change to look this morning and no mag threads appeared.....then...

The usual Ashley is king bait appears and away we go again.

Yep fuck off etc to me ..

Hopefully one day you'll take the hint ...

Your club isn't the be all and end all you seem to think it is. Get ower it man, plenty of clubs have past you by, however I'm sure with a 'world class' coach you should be fighting for the league no doubt...

Weird response. Seems a bit of a flounce to me.

My club is pretty important to me fwiw.

He's allowed to change his mind, it's his club.

Given the abuse he gets, it's hardly surprising.

Of course it’s his prerogative if he wants to renege on agreements. But on the same hand he can’t expect to be trusted when he makes similar proposals in the future. Hence Rafa’s unwillingness to sign a contract which is fair enough if the owner has proven himself to be untrustworthy.

And where did it get you?

Oh aye £130m of debt and on the brink without Mike to bail you out.

That is a fact. You were punching above and beyond your weight.

Yes it’s so clear now you point it out.

In the 10 years prior to Ashley, you made the top 10 on 4 occasions and were haemorrhaging cash, but since his arrival, you’ve only made the top 10 on 3 occasions and despite the unrest caused by supporters, he’s got you back there now and living within your means. No wonder you want him out.

You do realise that football has changed a lot since you tried to buy the league all those years ago. For instance, Bruce Rioch was replaced at Arsenal, Ken Bates has sold Chelsea, Man City are on the up, etc...

What you had over 20 years ago was Hall gambling everything at his shot at the title and whilst a good attempt, it failed. What he tried to do cannot be sustained for more than a few seasons. Hence your fall back to mid table 20 year back. That era of finishing 2nd was a blip in your history. Mid table is the norm for a club like Newcastle unless you get a sugar daddy to bank roll you, but again that would lead to an unnatural position in the league.

Unfortunately for you, the huge TV money now available allows smaller clubs without your level of debt to challenge you for mid table positions, which is why you also face possible relegation fights for the foreseeable future.

Let me know if you’re struggling with this and I’ll try to put it in simpler terms.

Nice cliche riddled article in the chronic.

Bouncy = world class manager
Pardew = much worse manager.

Despite Pardew having done much better at NUFC than bouncy, how on earth are that lot so brainwashed?

'Despite the unrest caused by supporters'

Fans fault . Incredible.

Football has changed a lot but we've massively been on the wrong side of it where we could have been on the good side without a total shithouse as an owner.

We don't want a 'sugar daddy'. How many times does it have to be said before it sinks in? We just want the money recouped by transfers and the TV money to be re-invested into the good of the club without the smoke and mirrors of 'erroneous contracts' and whatever shite he pulls to keep the figures from showing more cash coming in to reduce expectations.

Just look at the recent stunt he has pulled, offering our manager away to Spain in a blatant attempt to remove him from any transfer activity and get some cash back into the bargain. The bloke is shameless.
