We've ever had the delusions of grandeur that they've had.

Part of the joy of relegating them (oh yes) is the fact that they think they should be in the champions league and back competing with their rivals Man Utd and Barcelona. Thats why they need a high profile name like Rafa in charge and they are desperate to keep him at all costs (despite the fact he couldnt beat norwich, sunderland or villa and got them relegated with a better team on paper than any of those teams)

Sunderland fans have never thought like that, because we are largely used to having an average/shit team. Thats why the 6 in a row is so glorious!

6 in a row off poor little pink seats, blue pop drinking, cheesy chips eating Sunderland.... and then relegated by them too. we will climb back up one day, and in the mean time you can just ponder those memories whenever you think of us. Lovely.

Nobody is obsessed with anybody. It's the only 2 main clubs in a large area. Been local rivals and will of had work colleagues families etc supporting both clubs for decades, bound to always be rivalry and comparisons. Especially in such a passionate football area.

When we went down it made your year, you went on more about that than we did about you getting relegated out the pub league at home to Burton in front of thousands upon thousands of empty seats.

Sunderland have lost more games than anyone else in the last 10 years apparently and even your fans and new owners say that it's a club used to abject failure and been a laughing stock. We have won f all but we haven't been getting humiliated most weeks and an almost 10 year relegation battle finishing up with been battered out of the bottom of the pub league by Burton and Ipswich Barnsley etc.

Currently it's a long, long way back for you to rival us in any aspect on or off the pitch though.

If you had 10 top 6 premier league finishes and 100 plus European games then maybe you lot would be the same? I'm certain if we never once made the top 6 or played in Europe then we would be the same as you are expectation wise.

Manure genuinely were our rivals in the past though as we were competing for pl titles and fa cup finals against them as well as against Barcelona in the cl. I have never heard a Newcastle fan say that in the last 15 years though.

When I and I'm sure most Newcastle fans think of Sunderland all that comes to mind is 5 in a row, an empty stadium and league 1.

“They celebrated too wildly when we went down (for the record, they didn’t relegate us. We were relegated by a poor decision by a linesman when Sergio Aguero scored while offside”
:lol::lol::lol::rolleyes:

We wee relegated due to having no goalscorer and a weak as piss spine then Everton rolling over

What a life.

Not nationally. You lot find daft things like phone boxes and horses amusing. Certainly not as much as getting beat at home to the likes of Burton and Barnsley in an empty stadium to be relegated to league 1. Or to be known as a team that loses the most games in the country. Like I say that's not me saying that you say it yourselves how much of a joke you have been and the new owner also said as much.

This ffs, it's a handbag battle over who cares about who less. They're our rivals and we should despise them and visa versa.

However there are some right weirdos on twitter who must have the Sunderland twitter notifications turned on so they can provide their shite patter on every post. Freaks.
How does @janey feel about this?

Never had a manger that didn't know the names of his players ie; Charles insomnia, great days those were.

You really don't need to tell us that we are shite man!
Why worry so much about us?
We are in an age where it has never been easier to meet women, give it a try, go on, it will stop you thinking about poor little Sunderland.

Aye he was a idiot. All down to Ashley making idiotic decisions though and that's just off the field stuff. Nobody will admit to what a horrible club we were from 2013 until Benitez came. Just a bad few years all down to Ashley's stupid decisions.

We've never been known nationally as a football team that constantly loses and is used to failure as Sunderland are

Spot on. I'm sure most Newcastle fans think of Sunderland aswell. A hell of a lot of the time.

Poor old Bobby get a slating because he struggled with names. Imagine being like that in your 60s. Still, at least he knew how to organise a side. You've had plenty of managers recently who couldn't even get the basics right.

f***ing chomp chomp!!!!

Why wouldn't we? From Edinburgh down to Leeds we are the 2 main clubs in the most passionate football area of the country.

To be honest I was never that bothered about Sunderland, wanted you to lose but that was it. I never even read this board until may 2016. The way you went on when we went down though just made me want to see you fall as low as possible and for our roles to be flipped on there head as much as they could be.

That side of it couldn't of gone any better from our point of view. I did say to all the mackems I know that we're griefing me that we would he back mid table pl in a couple of years and you would be mid table championship.
