We had 2 relegations recently and still got 50,000 plus in the championship. We wouldn't be so shit and small time to finish bottom of the championship to compare to though

I think that was 37,000 against Reading in 2009. Our lowest league crowd and it wouldn't drop much lower than that, certainly not down to 18,000 or so like you had this season.

You lost 16k for your first game,yes your crowds went up afterwards but you won the f***ing league man not finish bottom for the second consecutive season.

And as for 18'000 I tink you'll find we averaged 28k.
Under similar circumstances I doubt you'd get many more than that yourself.

Yeah even if we were somehow bottom half championship I still think we would be around 33k plus but we won't know for sure. Newcastle are the only club not to have had a premier league gate under 30k though.

Most people on this board were saying there was only around 18-19k at most your home games this season

Of course I admit we never have had it anywhere near as bad as you. Worst I've seen us is 1st in the championship.

If there actually was 28k then I would say that is good in your circumstances. However on the photos I seen of the stadium it was nowhere near half full as most on here commented on as well.

I do commend the ones who still went though. Respect any genuine mackems more than plastic manure fans from Durham and Darlington etc

I'm from Co Durham yes. Plastic? Far from, been to about 60 away games for starters

We aren't bad enough to ever go through what you have to be fair.

I've made up no figures just that your stadium wasn't half full which most on here also said and anyone with eyes could clearly see

Based on what? Either you are telling me you could see the whole of the stadium and counted every single person or you are jumping on another made up Mag fairytale to go with

50,000 mags in the Clockstand against Gillingham
Blue Pop and Cheesy Chips are the only things consumed in Sunderland
Etc.

Your a one city team with a massive catchment area. Its nowt to write home about.

North of Newcastle theres nothing.
 
Still a one club city with a big catchment area though. The people north of Newcastle could just as easy support Newcastle. Anyhow it's getting a bit of a pointless debate that. Both did have cracking support unrivalled for our lack of success.

This Durham mag stuff is a new one to me mind only heard it on here. Far as I'm aware Co Durham has no football league team? So it's really either Newcastle, Sunderland or be a plastic glory hunting wanker

how does it have a big catchment area? 30 mins north and south there are big towns and citys.
