As in 95% that you have not been to, yet here you are ( again ) posting on a Sunderland forum talking about empty seats. Haha f***ing pathetic man, get a grip.

Responding to a comment about ticket sales. I've been to about 40% of the home games this season not too bad living 200 miles away and when they sell out quick.

Sound like you have an amazing life yet come on here for kicks.

Does not compute.

Haha it's ups and downs. I don't come on here for any "kicks" just a football debate and to try offer some balanced views and reality where NUFC is concerned in a Newcastle thread

Yeah just replying to a post to me if that's ok? You still haven't commented on having the most empty seats in the UK whilst trying to laugh at a team who fills its stadium 99% of the time. Like some alternate reality here that goes against facts and what's actually happening.

Agreed it's not a successful season that's just the words they used. Successful season for me would be winning something or getting back in Europe. Been a fairly solid season I would say with a few rocky patches.

If we get 10th I'm sure it's still higher than all but 2 or 3 of your seasons in the last 40 years. If and it's a big if we have some decent recruitment in the summer then I can't see any reason why we can't go a few places better next year too.

Ok I'll have a little nibble.
Newcastle v Fulham 1st game of Championship season - 36'000 = 16'000 empty seats.
Now fuck off and die yer sad mag ****.

When was that? Reading do you mean 2009? Yeah we had 36,000 that game then 45-50,000 the rest of the home games. That would be our attendances bottoming out and that was just for one game and still almost double what you pull in now.

Don't argue with a mag about Sunderland attendances. It's what they live for along with anything else to do with Sunderland. We are the centre of their universe.

Centre of our universe? Don't think so. Why did we never mention 5 in a row then like you do 6 in a row? As we had champions league football at the time. If our positions were swapped you would of gave 10x more grief to us than we have to you.

It's been quite tame actually any stick you have received from Newcastle lately. We certainly got worse off you for just going down to the championship. Shows that Sunderlands fortunes aren't what we define ourselves by whereas soon as Newcastle stumble a bit youse are loving it!

Why have Newcastle managed to break into the top 4 numerous times in the last 25 years whilst Sunderland haven't once?

We have bigger ambitions than beating you and just been happy staying up that's why. We always wanted to push on as much as we could.

Because I'm not abusing anybody? Or winding anybody up? Just stating truths and offering balanced views from the other side in a Newcastle thread even if they aren't popular or go down well as even when it's fact and normal debate if it involves anything slightly pro for Newcastle people can't take it as they are that bitter.

You said we are the centre of he universe and I have came back with things that happened that say why we aren't. You just don't like it so resort to " horse puncher" gravy dribbler" ban him etc

When's LALAS 3 coming out. You know those books brought about by NUFC fans all about Sunderland?
Turning up at the SAFC v Gillingham game next season ?

Which is why some of your lot still bleat on about 5-1

Have you thought about changing your user name to " Tim, nice but dim" ?

Only the morons do. No normal person does. I never even think of it as them 6 losses in a row almost make it null and void anyhow. Like I say I deal in reality and the reality is I don't have a leg to stand on going off recent games between the clubs I can't deny that

You say I'm dim but I haven't said anything that hasn't happened or isn't true. If I was making a load of stuff up to suit an agenda then fair enough, but I'm not.

If a Newcastle fan isn't allowed to come back with some sensible true points in a Newcastle thread then there must be something wrong.

I don't say any of that rubbish. I'm not from Newcastle so I don't have a built in hatred of anything Sunderland. That's just people from Newcastle itself who take it too far. Again that's probably about 0.5% of newcastle supporters who embarrass themselves like that

Personally I find you to be full of shit and a typical Durham mag, you’re a bit of a sad act to be fair.

You never thought I was oright. I was born in 88 so how can I help supporting Newcastle from around 93/94?

What did I say there to warrant a response like that? I said only morons go on about 5-1, accept we were well beat in them 6 games and that I don't have a built in deep rooted hatred of Sunderland as I am not from Newcastle where the main hatred of Sunderland is.

Yeah I'm from Co Durham again I can't help that. Only really 2 teams to support if you are from Durham so I don't see the issue in supporting Newcastle. Hardly a glory fan.

Have to laugh at insults over a keyboard though.

Because you are highly deluded as a fan base and think you are better than what you actually are.

Your position as a club now is no different to what we were for the last 10 years. An average mid table premier league side which will never be able to compete with the top seven. Your choices are either mid table or a relegation fight.

Those ambitions are the prime delusions. If you had any other manager than Rafa this season you would be hounding him out, just like you did with Pardew who also had you in a similar league position. What gives you the right to believe you are entitled to better than other teams around you? It has to be earned.

You can blaff on about the top four all you like, but that is ultimately history now. Nothing more, nothing less. You will never be competing that level again. The younger generations of football have never known the Keegan years and what not, you're just another unremarkable average team to them.

What's a typical Durham mag? And what's the issue with people from Durham supporting Newcastle? Plenty support Newcastle and plenty Sunderland. It's half way between both places.

Good post and I agree with that. Last 10 years other than that 5th place we have been the same or worse than most other pl clubs.
Maybe we do think we are better than what we are but what's wrong with wanting to get back in the top 6? We have had a taste so we want to get back. Either that or just accept been an also ran then what's the point?

When I was 11-19 growing up all I ever really knew though was qualifying for Europe. I think 98-2007 before Ashley we were in Europe just about every season and then only once since he took over.

Hence the frustration and feeling like he has held us back. If Sunderland had regular European football then got taken over and then had 2 relegations and no European football anymore would you be frustrated?

You do realise there’s a pm option, if you don’t wish do it on her there’s always that option, I find you to be a bit of a Sky boy gobshite, over 50 posts in less than 24 hours shows me that.

You’re just another mouthy prick hiding behind the internet.

I have nothing to hide. Just posting in the Newcastle forum offering my views on Newcastle and responding to posts. Some of which I've said I agree with. Hardly like I'm spouting a load of stuff then unwilling to have it questioned or debate it.

I'm not a "sky boy", all I've known from been about 6/7 year old is watching football on sky though which is hardly my fault.

That's a good question and the subjectivity of it is always worth keeping in mind.

But, it's a bit more than that though isn't it? It's not just expectations, for me it's also the sense of "entitlement" I see many Newcastle fans have, the whole "we are something special mentality".

Take us and league one. I strongly feel, like you do with Europe, that a club of Sunderland's stature probably shouldn't be there. However at the same time, I recognize that nothing in football is a given and that we are there because we ultimately deserve it for our performances on the pitch over the past two years. I also recognize that even though we are "Sunderland" that does not give us a divine mandate to get out of League One, we have to earn it and like it or not, there will be "smaller" clubs at that level who will be competing with us.

This is the thing with Newcastle. Any bid for the top has to be earned. It cannot come simply by "who you are" and that's what many of your fans forget. Expectations should always be optimistic, yes, that is what being a fan is about... but... they also need to be adjusted to reality at times.

Good post and nice to see a sensible response. Of course Sunderland should be nowhere near league 1. Or even the championship. If the money was spent even half right then mid table pl should be the level.

It dosent give you a divine right to get out no but if you walk out to 30k plus the first game of next season with a positive attitude and that we are going to go up this season then that surely that will help the players.

Newcastle have always been arrogant and very cock sure as a club in that sense. It's worked in our favour at times. It gets laughed at that we are going to rival Man Utd Barcelona etc but for a very brief period we competed with them in a title race and as there level in the champions league. Not bad from where we came from in the early 90s nearly going down to the third division.
It's no doubt worked against us at times as well hounding out certain managers with delusions of grandeur.

Overall as a club though other than the top 6 and possibly Everton I don't think its deluded or unrealistic to expect Newcastle to be able to aim for and get 8th place and be the best of the rest for a few years and take it from there. We don't expect Europe and swashbuckling football like some people think. Just to get back to acting our level.

He must be dim if he thinks we will swallow the" I'm only here for decent chat" crap. He's only here, like some others who have recently signed up, cos we are in league one . At the moment we are an easy target. He's having his digs at us quite regularly and that is why he signed up.
