People are naturally biased towards their own clubs I suppose, and in the last 25 years or so, Everton haven't really been media darlings or challenged for a title, and by today's standards have a smallish ground. People under the age of maybe 40 probably don't remember Everton as being majorly succesful. Proper football people recognise Everton's position in the English game, but it would be easy for people of a certain age to be ignorant to it.

I agree completely in the Sky era we aint done anything special however fans from those clubs who finish top half once then suddnely become billy bog bollocks piss me off.

I agree aswell the media also hype teams up like West Ham. Wolves are a perfect example they have appointed a manager and 2-3 players from an agents books and they are the next big thing, we spend £300 million in 2 seasons, are moving to a new 55k stadium in 3-4 seasons time but dont get the same hype because we have had a bad season and not blitzing the fizzy pop league.

Which is my point however fans from clubs like Watford/Southampton etc sign up to EFC boards on the wind up "you'll not get Koeman we are a side step move" "Watford are on the up your not bigger than us since the 80's" etc. Yet they always end up leaving.

My point was the Newcastle fans on the comments section were making big statements like that but I doubt punch come to shove in the summer they would back it up yet that Qwerty bloke cant seem to comprehend my point as the bloke has a weird hatred of EFC - most likely one of Alladyce's cult followers.

To most under 40'st Everton finishing 7th / 8th is about right and others might think you are slightly punching above your weight given your stadia compared to lots of others. The top 5/6 have left you behind massively and it will take a monumental effort to get close to being considered in that bracket. I really like Everton as well despite how the wider support seem to have gone on this season.

You've probably nailed it every fan thinks their club is special and losing your best players is always a sickener.
It's the Everonian telling others to pipe down which I didn't like.
Arrogance and his fishing for likes is a little distasteful.

Oh go wank Klopp off you clown :lol:

He's got you running around in circles man. If you don't like it log off.

The crazy thing is that I always tell the Mags straight that I come on, fling a quick post on to wind them up and clear off.

When I come back on they've all been posting to each other about me.

Then, when they've all formed a circle and licked each other's rings clean, one will inevitably declare, "Reiver's had a mare on this thread,"

They seem to totally miss the fact that they're wasting their time debating a stranger, on the internet, who's openly admitted he posts to wind them up.

Season 16-17
Player Goals Club Cost

Defoe - 15 goals - Sunderland (swap deal worth £6m)
King - 15 goals -Bournmouth (free)
Vardy - 13 goals - Leicester (£1m)
Deeney -10 goals - watford (500k)
Vokes - 10 goals - Burnley (350k)

Season 15-16

Vardy - 24 goals - Leicester (£1m)
Mahrez - 17 goals - leicester (750k)
Deeney - 13 goals - Watford (500k)
Arnautovic - 11 goals - Stoke (£2m)
Mane - 11 goals -southampton (£10m)

And this season

Vardy - 18 goals - Leicester (£1m)
Murray - 12 goals - Brighton (300k)
Mahrez - 11 goals - Leicester (750k)
Milivojevic - 10 goals - Palace (£12m)
Are you confusing transfer fee at the time of their last transfer, with transfer value now (or at least last summer)? How much was Vardy valued at when Arsenal were reportedly sniffing around him? Bet you it was more than £1m. How much was Mahrez valued at? What about Mane?

Well Glenn Murray has scored 12 goals, I'm certain you could have gotten him for far less than £17m
Maybe. Frankly, I think Abraham would have been a good signing, shame the money men couldn't sort a decent deal with Chelsea. I think he's a better player than his showing at Swansea.

We needed depth on the flanks because Ritchie was our only right winger and Atsu our only left winger. Murphy is a young winger with promise so when he was available to us it made sense to pursue him, with one eye on his potential. It's easy with hindsight to say we should have spent his fee on a striker, but had we done that and Ritchie got injured the striker wouldn't have had the service and Benitez would be criticised for not signing a winger. Had we had an extra £10-15m we could have signed a good striker instead of having to gamble that Stoke's 5th choice striker would deliver. Every transfer is a gamble, but hoping that a £5m player will be good enough is a bigger gamble than we should have been taking.

It's like you lot; Short gambling that <£1.5m on fresh faces would be enough to remain in the Championship. There may have been a decent side that could be made from a bunch of free transfers and lower league players, one that you could have got for such a tiny outlay, but it's very f***ing unlikely.

It dosn't matter how much they are valued at now, those are the prices those clubs played for them and those are the goal returns they are getting.
Surely a world class manager like Rafa has a scouting network where he can find such gems or is he your typical check book manager?

That's what they all claimed when he arrived.

Instead be buys a kid from Norwich and begs Leicester for Slimani

You just can't reason with them when it comes to Rafa.
It's "Rafa's world class blah blah bla"
If so surely his know how in the transfer market and all his connections over the years he should be able to pick up some bargins and mould them into good team, isn't that what world class managers are capable of?
With Rafa it's "give me £150m to spend or I'm off"

Yeah they'll only be doubling their wages
Guaranteed top half football
Playing European football every 1 out of 2 seasons or so
More chance of winning something but I agree still a small chance (what have Spurs or Liverpool won lately)

But yeah a "slight" upgrade. Bet Gyfi is made up he aint slugging it out in the fizzy pop league next season - just a shame our current manager is a shit house otherwise we could be playing in Europe again next season but hey ho glad for Burnley fans who are in the whole decent.

Again are you seriously stupid or just not getting my point? Its nothing to do eith being "up in arms" your fans were right to not be happy BUT I read on here alot saying it was a step up for him which you cant argue was right. The fact he wanted to leave also points to that

Mate some people have grown a weird hatred of EFC on here. Everytime I come on lately its Everton bashing, wanking over Liverpool etc.

I'll be glad when Real dump them out of the final and we fuck Alladyce off next week then maybe some will lose the bee in their bonnet with us
I have no hatred towards either Liverpool or Everton, got some good mates from both sides. One of them is the grandfather of that little fucker Rolando Aaron’s kids.

I hope Liverpool beat Real mate, I can understand you not wanting them to win.

Well, of course it matters how much they're valued at now, I asked for 10-15 goal a season striker that Newcastle could have signed, those players you named are either valued much higher or wouldn't be sold to Newcastle.
Those are strikers that were bought at a bargain price and successful bargains are rare, as you've found out. As I said, there are bargains to be found, but the less you pay, the bigger the gamble that a player will be good enough for the Premier League. And there are far more flops than bargains, aren't there.

If was as easy as you make out, world class managers wouldn't be signing Gabriel Jesus for £27m, they'd just go find a gem for £500k that's just as good. Why couldn't Grayson or Coleman sign players good enough to keep a club like Sunderland in the Championship?

Are you suggesting any manager who wants to spend money is a chequebook manager? Because that's literally every manager.

You spout some shit.
I thought that was the norm on here?

Look this whole debate came about because you (might of been somone else) reckoned you couldn't buy a 10-15 goal striker for £17m, I gave examples of them, you then came back with "what are their values now".

It dosn't matter what their value is now all that matters is what their club paid for them.

As for saying "they'd just go and find a £500k striker that's just as good" I think you'll find I never said it was that easy i'm pointing out that there's plenty bargins to be had (which as been the case since football was invented) and that a world class manager (has we keep being told) with all his connections in the game should be able to spot a bargin along the way.

FWIW I think Benitez is a very good manager but he's not this mystical figure in which Newcastle fans portray him.

As for Coleman and Grayson they couldn't keep Sunderland up because the pair of them were f***ing useless.

Well lets say the last decade then as I doubt Neymar gives a fuck that Michael Owen won Liverpool a few pots in the 90's.

What have Liverpool and Spurs won?

1 league cup combined

Right so yes no doubt a big step up from us at present but hardly the same level as a Man City or Chelsea.

And again nothing to do with the top 6. Is Everton a step up from Newcastle, Swansea, Watford etc at present? Most level headed say yes but ny point was many of those clubs fans troll our board saying they are bigger and we have no chance of signing their star player/manager yet all end up coming/wanting to come in the end. If you talk the talk you need to back it up hence why I dont go on Man Utd forums giving it the big one.

Newcastle have had higher premier league finishes than Everton, more top 4 finishes, far bigger and more loyal crowds, champions league football, more European games and campaigns in the premier league era. I can't see any player being desperate to leave Newcastle for Everton even despite Ashley. Not too mention having a stadium that isn't falling apart and a total dump.

So depriving them of funds to fix a rotten side had nothing to do with their performance in the job.

Of course it did but they still should have done better.

Oh and Rafa wasn't deprived of funds hasn't he spent about £100m assembling your squad.

So they weren't useless then. If they had have been useless then their CVs wouldn't have even got them an interview.

As for Rafa, yes he did spend money, but only from what he got from sales. It's not as if Ashley gave him all that money and let him keep the likes of Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Janmaat, Townsend plus a few others.

Nowhere near 80% but if you keep getting this wound up it only encourages me.

In truth I respond to alerts from Mags who only seem to want to talk about me and half of.my responses are either  or

Why not try talking about football and ignore me, there's a good lad.

You might want to start by accepting my point is perfectly valid instead of avoiding it and feeding your delusion.

You must be a mag magnate marra ;)
