He did actually tell Micky Quinn that last Friday but it was on the assumption he gets backed in the summer. He said he spoke to Rafa on Friday and it was from the horses mouth, Rafa said he would turn down any and all offers and wanted to be here for ten years as long as he gets what he feels is sufficient backing.
Stay or go depends on what Rafa feels is sufficient backing and if Ashley is prepared to meet that.

He will get money but within our means.ive enjoyed Benitez making us better.a fabulous manager.love him

Firstly, this word "self-parody" I do not think it means what you think it means.
Secondly as always on here you keep trying to tell us what we think and then try to mock us for what you say we think even though it's pretty f***ing obvious that isn't what we think.

Now on to what you said.
You lot keep coming out with this absurd idea that if we win a game we give Rafa credit it for it and If we lose a game we blame Ashley for it. The individual results are purely down to the players and the coaching staff. If they are operating above what is expected they are going to get praised, If they are operating below what is expected then they are going to get criticised.
When it comes to the owner he gets praised when he makes decisions that improve the club and he gets criticised when he makes decision that are detrimental to the club.

I personally would praise Rafa for his work this season as I feel he has improved players through coaching and made them better and has the team looking like it will finish far better than I expected.
I would praise the team because I think they have shown huge effort and togetherness and have performed better than I expected.
I would criticise Ashley this season as I don't think he released the amount of club funds to the manager I felt he should have.
I praised Ashley last season because I thought he did well to keep hold of Rafa and reinvesting 50 million of the 80 million raised in transfers was more than I would have expected and showed a real determination to see us bounce back.
I will criticise Ashley in the summer if he doesn't give Rafa what I consider a reasonable transfer budget to show some ambition to attempt to take the club forward.
I will praise Ashley in the summer if I think he gives Rafa what I feel is a reasonable amount of financial backing.

If Rafa walks because he makes unreasonable transfer budget demands I would blame Rafa.
If Rafa requests a reasonable transfer budget that is affordable and Ashley refuses it and Rafa walks I will blame Ashley.

Fascinating, cheers
