as we are constantly reminded on here we are 1 move away from disaster, the drama team of the North East, is that not a bit of a mess, but we will take what we have at the minute, you do need to keep Coleman though, he will come good.
We knar, a poll says ~85% says we knar now peace off mag

Can't see him going to Arsenal.
He doesn't play the brand of football their fans demand.
Regardless though if he is not going to be backed in the summer transfer window he will walk even if there is no job waiting.
I don't see Ashley backing him, there would have been more chance of getting backing had we scraped through on goal difference. Ashley will now be thinking champion I can give him fuck all and we'll stay up, we are a mid table side with what we have.
I disagree Andy, Ashley is a business man and he knows this is his chance to get his tat direct advertising onto a larger stage. If there is no takeover I expect Rafa to have around 50 million to spend, including income from outgoings

:lol::lol::lol: It's always Ashley's fault if Rafa can't improve and it's always Rafa's fault if something goes well. Do you guys not realise what a self-parody you are?
Firstly, this word "self-parody" I do not think it means what you think it means.
Secondly as always on here you keep trying to tell us what we think and then try to mock us for what you say we think even though it's pretty f***ing obvious that isn't what we think.

Now on to what you said.
You lot keep coming out with this absurd idea that if we win a game we give Rafa credit it for it and If we lose a game we blame Ashley for it. The individual results are purely down to the players and the coaching staff. If they are operating above what is expected they are going to get praised, If they are operating below what is expected then they are going to get criticised.
When it comes to the owner he gets praised when he makes decisions that improve the club and he gets criticised when he makes decision that are detrimental to the club.

I personally would praise Rafa for his work this season as I feel he has improved players through coaching and made them better and has the team looking like it will finish far better than I expected.
I would praise the team because I think they have shown huge effort and togetherness and have performed better than I expected.
I would criticise Ashley this season as I don't think he released the amount of club funds to the manager I felt he should have.
I praised Ashley last season because I thought he did well to keep hold of Rafa and reinvesting 50 million of the 80 million raised in transfers was more than I would have expected and showed a real determination to see us bounce back.
I will criticise Ashley in the summer if he doesn't give Rafa what I consider a reasonable transfer budget to show some ambition to attempt to take the club forward.
I will praise Ashley in the summer if I think he gives Rafa what I feel is a reasonable amount of financial backing.

If Rafa walks because he makes unreasonable transfer budget demands I would blame Rafa.
If Rafa requests a reasonable transfer budget that is affordable and Ashley refuses it and Rafa walks I will blame Ashley.

I hope you're right but I will not hold my breath.
Summer gone we all said this team is going straight back down if it doesn't get significant investment, we all thought surely Ashley can see that and he isn't daft enough to let us go straight back down but it didn't happen.
Luckily for us Rafa did a job and we are safe but we could so easily have been going down this season.

Time will tell, we will know soon enough.

Tremendous . More potential twists than the Da Vinci Files . Where's the popcorn ?!

Top post.totally agree and most newcastle fans would agree with you.

Its been a great end to a season that at times looked worrying but the managers faith in what he was doing was echoed by the players who knuckled down to fight as a team, in my many years watching us ive seen shite and magic but rarely have i seen us have a "team" of scrappers. Its refreshing and its down to the manager.

Told by who?
He did actually tell Micky Quinn that last Friday but it was on the assumption he gets backed in the summer. He said he spoke to Rafa on Friday and it was from the horses mouth, Rafa said he would turn down any and all offers and wanted to be here for ten years as long as he gets what he feels is sufficient backing.
Stay or go depends on what Rafa feels is sufficient backing and if Ashley is prepared to meet that.

.
Id be happy with that and think this is exactly what he is getting.Trouble is most of that if we land them will need to be spent on the loanees.

If that happens its an improved squad and the best we can hope for in truth.i think we have overacheived this season and id be happy with a few no frills mid table finishes from now till i die in the top flight with a flirt with a cup .top six is a million miles away 7-12 each season is realistic , survival is minimum.

On Mcgready not yet i am in the office at 2ish, if i hear anything i will let you know, but hugill the centre forward at preston has supposedly been approached on Saturday. That is not off my mate Nick but from an IFA from Lytham St Annes and i will try to confirm it is true.

Just reading through this and found this.
