Drinkwater and Vardy didn't get much time together for England despite being an outstanding combination for the league champions.
I don't think it fits the system Southgate uses to try and shoehorn Shelvey in there, and I think he'd look well out of his depth against half decent opposition.

I think Shelvey tends to play better against decent teams, no idea how that would translate in a WC game mind.

Would you say that's because the decent teams tend to push up and try to attack, leaving space and therefore playing into shelvey's hands?

Think Shelvey would be ineffective in the group stages, then perhaps in knock out rounds against decent teams they'd see through that long pass. Don't think international teams are as naive as some PL teams.

Yes.

Teams sit deeper at international level, that's why I've said he would be a waste.

Can't deny he's got good vision/passing mind.

He's half decent player without that long pass of his, but if Southgate is going towards possession football where you're playing in front of all 10 opposition players Shelvey isn't that useful.
The baldy Pirlo

Seriously, you really need to read what you posted.

You're a grown man and you're actually boasting about searching for year old quotes on the internet ...... what a life you lead.

Interesting that Fulham are advertising tickets for their game against you on twitter. Trying to cash in ?

I think it's always been a good bet.
One of two things has always needed to happen for Rafa to stay.
The club is sold or Ashley gives him reasonable backing in the transfer market this summer.
The first is looking pretty unlikely and the second would be a minor miracle.
Pretty could chance he will be gone I would say.
