Brighton in their promotion season spent £7m. Newcastle spent £55m.
Over the three season period Hughton has spent £139m to Benitez's £133m

All that proves is that you spent the money you could have spent first year back in the PL on getting promoted. Classic error. "Clubs spend money they do not have; they spend next year’s income. They spend money that will not arrive for two years and say, "But we'll have some success and bring in more cash to cover the shortfall". It cannot be sustained. In good times you need to be saving money for the bad times. If we reach the Premier League, I would like to be in a position where we did not need parachute payments. In good years you should put money away for the bad years." - Nicola Cortese, ex-CEO of Southampton. Ring any bells?

you've had nowt in comparison mate and I've been watching Sunderland for nearly 50 years
I’ve been going home and away since 1972 and seen us win nowt. Lifetime of drab, with the odd few seasons of excitement.
I sometimes wish my father hadn’t taken me there.

i wished me dar had took me to his first love, he was an Arsenal from that there London

Ah, right, wages. Never took that into account tbh.
Appreciate the explanation.

When you've got players like McCormack getting £80k/week in that division, and not getting a game, it looks obvious. Leeds are only within the rules because they made £18m profit on transfers on 2018 - you can't rely on that happening every year (their wages took up £32 of £40m turnover, and that's far from the worst ratio in the division).

Misery

You haven't got a clue if you think where you are is misery. Daft knacker.
Listen mate, I come on here for a bit decent crack with decent folk. You don’t fall into that category. Daft knacker ffs? I bet you say gravy and go and shag your sister etc. Go back to the playground or put me on ignore.
