Get a chance read the autobiography......Cissie.
Its the Charltons mothers. She claims bobby charlton was a MLF and was heartbroken when our scout took the keeper from his team and not him.

No your lot

Wonder how many other local rags wrote a massive piece on how Graham Taylor loved their club because he spoke fondly of them

How many local papers tried to make a national news story relevant to their catchment area? Probably 90% of them. But then, you lot don't hate Plymouth with the heat of a thousand suns so you probably don't follow the Plymouth Herald on twitter.

A one off thrashing of sunderland is a career highlight for a man that took Watford from zeroes to heroes, that managed one of the biggest clubs in the country and managed the national team itself.

All local papers do this shit and you're naive to the extreme if you don't believe that.

Behave, Douglas has turned it into a massive Geordie 'we are so amazing' wank off where as the Echo mention that he stuffed us 8-0. Spot the difference?

Still with mocking scousers for 'candles' when they have been utterly vindicated over one of the worst cover-ups in Britain. Mental.

They fought for justice and won.

It was also on nufc Facebook groups. You'll be singing "he was one of our own" next.

You are literally the only person who brought Hillaborough into this.

I was referring to stuff like this

Surely this story is feasible. I can't imagine any manager anywhere not wanting to go and watch Newcastle on their day off. Also the journalistic integrity will have ensured that in the reporters notes there are dates and evidence. Finally to suggest that the passing of a decent bloke from somewhere other than Newcastle shouldn't be covered in a way that embellishes the legend that is NUFC, its cathedral on the hill and the best supporters the world has ever seen and will ever see, is frankly laughable.
Could be a Pulitzer in this.

Looks to me as if the local paper were able to use direct quotes from Taylor to make a national story relevant to their customers, just as literally every local newspaper in the country would do if they had similar quotes/stories about him. The difference, as I've mentioned, is that the knickers on wearside aren't twisted when it's the Plymouth Herald.

Local papers don't exist to tell stories anymore, they're advertising boards and anything that drums up traffic or sales of physical papers is good copy for them. A local take on a national story is one sure fire way to do that. And, when there are quotes to go with it, it's easy copy isn't it.

Why were you on a Newcastle facebook group man?

I've not seen that group myself, but I'd wager that someone's just lifted this story from the Chronic and posted it there for likes and attention.
