I've certainly not denied any of those things (apart from using the phrase Geordie Nation, though I know some "journalists" do).

Throughout his tenure I've seen Newcastle fans criticise Benitez when things have gone wrong, concerns have been raised about his pragmatic style, people would like to see more of certain players, or earlier subs.

But then, that doesn't fit your strawman does it? Honestly Reiver, there's plenty to mock your local rivals about, you needn't make things up. :lol:

Well, really, what tends to happen is that someone like Reiver will make a statement about NEwcastle United or it's fans that isn't accurate and they will repeat so often that it becomes the accepted wisdom. The dissenting voices either don't care or haven't the inclination to correct them.

So you may repeat a statement that doesn't directly contradict the claim, but in so doing you're allowing the strawman to be built, which is a bit silly in itself.
