New years eve fireworks

Ive been reading that there's supposedly a firework display at the seafront new years eve (admittedly on Facebook, I know I know)
I can't find anything on the council or related websites. Does anyone have any info regarding whether or not this is happening?

Bizarre it's not been promoted like. I will take the kids down for it but I'd not know about it if someone hadn't posted about it on Fulwell folks.

More generally, as a pet owner with little interest in fireworks, I find NYE worse than bonfire night for exploding stuff, away from the official displays, which are fine, if that's what you're into.

I found a tiny snippet on the Sunderland vibe page saying they are having fireworks at Seaburn along with children's rides and street entertainers. No timings for anything though.
Seems stupid but not surprising that they havnt publicised this event.

Interestingly despite the event being listed by seeitdoitsunderland there is no mention of it anywhere on their website. I wonder if it was planned and advertised in the magazine but got pulled after it went to print.
