New Stand & Hotel At DCCC

Was out and about today and called down to the Durham CCC shop. Had a look around the ground and got talking to one or two people on the groundstaff. A couple of interesting bits and pieces.

Looks like the extension of the County Durham Stand will be starting almost immediately. There will be no top bit but the bottom bit is being built in meccano like sections that will be brought in and fixed together.

I was also told that the hotel will also be starting soon. They took the trees down at the back of the ground now as its nesting season soon and if they hadnt demolished the trees now then once the birds got in they wouldnt be allowed to build the hotel until next year. Strange but seemingly true.

That hotel will be a good inclusion. Maybe we could get the likes of Plunkett in there the night before a game to keep him out of the LoveShack :shock:
