New Shirt

We took the piss out of them for being relegated as well. There's a moral in there somewhere.

In fairness, I don't think the shirt is as bad as other people seem to. It's certainly a lot different but after the last few kits and barely any change, at least it seems we will be getting more for the money. The club shop today confirmed a few things for those interested. There will be away and third strips, and the sizing is different with chest sized increased by 2in - i.e. Medium is now 40-42in as opposed to 38-40 previous. They are however more of a "slim fit".

Fattys not welcome.

There have been plenty of rotten strips and this isn't one

They haven't listened to or understood what fans want but after the last few years that's a given

The red backs will take some getting used to but I'm guessing it makes it easier for players to pass to each other on the pitch

The stripes have been thinner in the past, and we won't be mistaken for Stoke, Sheffield Utd etc as much

Were you not around for Le Coq up?

I must be one of the only ones about who liked that strip. Was only about 8 but thought it was all posh with being french with loads of red go faster strips on it. And red shorts, really liked the red shorts. Me Granda wasn't a fan mind and seeing as he bought me strips for me that was the first year I got an away kit.

I liked it as well pal. It's a cracking strip and not surprising that it's still sold in the club store now as a classic shirt.

It would be a good idea but there'll be a reason why the don't and it'll have something to do with adidas I'll bet.

Kick in the bollocks? Ha'way mate, it's a strip. People disagree with designs all the time. That's the beauty about opinions.

I agree they do usually, but there doesn't seem to be much disagreeing on this one. Even before it was released there were a few people who has seen it who were warning everyone would hate it. Either club thought this is what we wanted, or knew we would hate it and went with it anyway.

People will still buy it regardless so why would the club give a fuck whether we like it or not

I flip between liking it and thinking it's horrific. I don't understand some of the criticism levelled at it though, and I can guarantee if we hadn't been relegated then it wouldn't be getting half as much stick as it is. Plus it looks alright here...

The back design is awful however (although it does look better with a name and number on), but I like the stripes, and at the very least it's something different. Then again I'm not too attached to the stripes in general anyway so I wouldn't be too bothered if we something like Ajax or Peru, as long as it's red and white.

At the end of the day it's just a shirt and if we have a good season people will look back fondly about it. Oh and I liked the whole kit launch aspect, much better than just having a few of the knackers that relegated us modelling it.
