I just can't understand why so many are wound up about it. We seem to wallow in a shallow pool of negativity.
Perhaps it stems from the club itself but it's also evident in the City of Sunderland imo. Nothing's good enough, and the high priority issues take second fiddle to petty stuff like this. The hysterics over a few stripes is quite amazing.
I wonder if the reaction would be different if we had a better team. Perhaps not. It just seems that anything is turned into a negative at the moment.
Have you ever visited Portland, Oregon?
We're you around for the Le Coq Sportif pinstripes?
This is the first home shirt that is anything majorly different since the first Avec one which was also way worse.
You forgot the socks. We've reverted back to the black socks that were synonymous with the 105 point championship winning season as well as the two seasons we finished in the top 7 under Reid.
Whoever selected the strip knows the score.
Think it's just the outcome of a culmination of fuck ups by the club. People are desperate for just a glimmer of positivity but even the unveiling/design of a kit feels like too much of a task for them to get right
The club are so out of touch with the fans it's unbelievable
Rumour has it that the new run out song at the SoL is the theme from Bullseye !!
Were you involved in this strip selection?
The black around the badge is horrendous
Stripes with a square panel would have been better (still not right but better than a whole red back)That is dreadful like. I used to take the piss of the mags for doing the same.

Perhaps they are in many cases but sometimes fans need to be led. If some of our fans had their way we'd have had the same blue away top every year since Rowell wore it.
Imagine the uproar when we changed to thicker stripes. Oh aye there won't have been one as blokes back then had better things to be complaining about.
We took the piss out of them for being relegated as well. There's a moral in there somewhere. That is dreadful like. I used to take the piss of the mags for doing the same.

It's definitely the worst in my lifetime!
I'd just like to see a supporter forum used to test kit designs. The club will have known the thin stripes alone wouldn't go down well, never mind coupled with a blank back but they've chosen to use it and release it at the worst time possible. It comes across as a kick in the bollox by a board who seems to already be systematically f***ing over the fans any chance they get
