New Shirt

When the kit came out last year, I thought wide stripes unlucky... and worst fears confirmed in April. Better safe than sorry this year. Believe that narrow stripes will bring good luck.
(Come August).

I like it. Simple yet different to the almost identikit last three we have had where they just changed the trim and side panel colors. Are there any images of the back with a name and number on? Think it might look less garish. I'd buy it if it wasn't for the back panel.

I read on here when the club was sold (either by Murray to Quinn, or by Quinn to Short....cant recall) that a document was written up stating contractual conditions regarding club traditions such as strip colors etc. Someone said that "no back panel" was in there.....so either they've broken with that or it was done to fit with regulations, maybe on the assumption two years ago when it was designed that we'd still be in the top flight.

It could also be because the lettering would be harder to see on the thin stripes than on the thicker ones we are used to.

Why? Does every team in the Championship wear red?
Bristol City, Forest, Brentford,
And there you have it the new shirt for everyone who likes it.
When you were away on holiday you could always tell who was a Sunderland fan even when they had there back to you. With this red back they could be a fan of any club who plays in all red.

TBH I don't really get what all the fuss is about. Is it white with red stripes instead of red with white stripes?

Oh, it's red and white stripes. Canny.
Its a butchers apron, not a football shirt.

Unfortunately it seems to have no effect at all on being able to see the dafabet lettering

That can be solved by placing
Rodders
in big white lettering.
