Howay fella ! Watch ye divnt fall of that high horse of yours ,the refined air is geting to you..You do realise this is a fan site dont you?.........some folk are proud of their club and look to buy the club colours every year! That strip says to me that the club yet again has taken us for granted and couldnt be bothered to garner the supporters input and they have gone for the cheapest option again from some sort of proto model .....its not the strip itself that bothers me( but it is shite) its the thinking or lack of thinking behind it..........and a portent of things to come where the club does things at arms length as they appear to be outsoucing everthing to do with the club so i guess there was no one at the club to scrutinise the creation of our new kit.............We play in red and white stripes and 50 % of the strip contains no stripes...its an adapted of the peg mish mash of an old sheffield united top....fekking hidious and cheap an not a top to be proud of!

Few clubs ask what their supporters want from a strip. It's always been that way. Is it right, perhaps not but if we asked our fans we'd end up with a similar design every season. The only way around this would be to present 3-4 options and allow season card holders an opportunity to vote.

Yoy're also overlooking the fact that many will like the new shirt.

Im talking about todays new home kit. Pink.

It's not pink, unless you're colourblind in which I'm sorry.

Not saying it's perfect but, I like it for a change. It's definitely something different.

It's good to see that they launched it in the community as well.

Barcelona have had thin stripes, fat stripes, halves, hoops and changed the colour of their shorts all in the past decade. I'd be happy to see Safc do all of that. Alternate between a traditional kit and one that's a departure. Far better than grafting black and gold panels onto the arm pits.
Ya like it you buy it, its a shit shirt end of. You justify it anyway you want.
At the end of the day it looks like the waiters shirt from TGI Fridays.
I like to see Sunderland play in the broader Red and White striped shirts.
This is just a shit Sheffield United shirt.

Thought so, thanks for clarifying.

Do you have a link mate?
Sure I read about it early last season. Clubs were discussing having a shirt for Fans with full stripes and one for players with one solid colour but kids would want the same as the players whereas auld gist would prefer the trad ones. Wouldn't be financially viable to have two styles available. They were also mentioning altering the all round stripes solely for player wear.
Hmmm now that I think about it Twas more the discussion side of it I read about than the actual passing of the regulation. If I'm wrong I'm wrong....there's a first time for everything!

As bad as the Le Coq Sportif pinstripe number from the 80's.

And I'm told the goalies kit is all white? What about poor Doris who has to wash the kit? She's not gonna get the grass stains out of that is she?

Isn't that the hole point in having an away kit I bet you would be missed off if you bought an away kit and we only used it once?
No we play in Red and White stripes and the whole point of the change kit is it is only used when there is clash of colours.

As much as I hate this new strip I'd probably buy it if it had the ship badge on it.

Just looked at the new shirt on the club site and 50 quid for what is a glorified T-shirt, no thanks.
I'm not keen on the design and when I showed the wife the picture she said urgh. I think it's a grower and we'll all love it in a few months time........Maybe not.

Its a bag of shite right up there with the Le Coq Sportif pin stripe. Its not a Sunderland shirt.
This all red back is a shocker as well.
Every time we play away from home we are going to have to use the away kit.
Who are these clubs with storied history who mess about with their shirts?
Why? Does every team in the Championship wear red?
