Depends on how many redundancies. Above 20 90 days notice, under 20 30 days. If someone has worked for the company less than 2 years they can be given a weeks notice.

If they haven't been given the minimum required by law far enough.

If they have then unfortunately fuck them I'm afraid, bitter losers.

I've been through redundancy twice. Got £14K for volunteering the first time and fuck all the 2nd. Both were the mandatory amounts I was entitled to. I walked away from both and just put it down to experience.
