New Offside Rule begins testing this weekend

Im not really up to date on the rules. Can someone explain to me the Burnley Brighton game today? Burnley had a goal disallowed because the attacker's arm was offside, they then had another one disallowed because a bit of his knee was offside, but they didnt use the defender's arm to draw the line?
