The Durham Ladies currently use NFP but I know the Russell Foster also uses it for the youngns league. My lad plays there every Saturday in the U7 league

I remember going to the reserve games there back in the early 00's when they it was still grass.

Yep. Neil Wainwright and David Duke on the wings, doctor Proctor up front. 99 or 2000. Lovely grass pitch.

I was there about a year ago and was shocked at how much the whole place had deteriorated.

I agree. Used to watch our stiffs there and have been to a few games there in recent years and its looking very tired.

Watched a lot of footie at New Ferens Park down the years. Anyone remember a friendly between Durham City and a pretty strong Sunderland XI not long after it opened? Might have been 1995/96? SAFC won 3-1, IIRC, have a feeling Chris Woods was in goal. Not clear why they'd buy it now, considering that Eppleton serves pretty much the same purpose and is closer to Sunderland.

Tommy Porter had the pitch like a carpet when our Ressys played there.

The astroturf surface there is now an absolute disgrace and the floodlights are shocking too.
