So, I'm admittedly out of touch with non-league football, what happened to Durham City and who are Durham United? I didn't realise Durham didn't play there anymore (the original Durham that always used to play there).

a poster recons the surface is in good nick...he defo hasnt played on it..its been layed 25 years..10 year past its sell buy...
Play and coach on it weekly you f***ing cockwomble, see some of the areas best young talent develop week in week out on your apparently poor surface, laid 25 years ago?? your just plucking shite out of thin air lad it was laid 2007 and from that moment onwards Durham city's troubles started

Durham city currently playing at Willington, struggling at foot of northern league div 2 Durham utd set up in 2012 with two youth teams, now have more teams of both genders and all age groups than I care to mention, took over the running of new ferens a few year back, has adult mens side in wearside league ATM

More likely that it will help the women's team and U23s to have a ground of their own, rather than borrowing places like Eppleton. I'd question whether Durham is a bit far from the city though.
The PL passed a rule a while back that academy teams need a four sided ground with public admitted instead of hiding away inside the academies.

Definitely hasn’t been 25 years but will be 18/19 years. I spoke with the secretary in 2009 and was told the surface had a 10 year lifespan but he added that he didn’t know how the powers that be knew as 4G hadn’t been about that long and added that theirs was only seven and a half years.

Seems that the pitch was laid in 2006. That’s surely past its best now.

Cheers for the update, had no idea. Good to see Utd have picked up and kicked on.

Now wrong with travelling to Durham. It is after all the capital of our proper county. Away with this 'Tyne & Wear' shite! That's just an excuse for Mags to steal all the resources for their gravy stained city.
I would quite like County Durham's capital City to be cleaned up, mind. Too many gravy stained mags there anarl.

when you say4 sided ground, do you mean a ground with 4 stands?

I know it sounds like a stupid question, it’s just Newcastle’s U23s play at Whitley Park which definitely isn’t that.
