this is gospel. i once saw alec stewart, crossing the road at the howard arms, walking towards where there used to be a carpetright showroom. i dropped a savoury pattie in shock.
 

I'm glad it means something to you.Top man is Alec Stewart-spoke at SSCC club dinner some years back and readily agreed to be the club patron.I'm sure his correct name is on the club letterheads.

not really. didnt he marry a lass from sunderland? i could not believe seeing him over roker. was in the 90s iirc.
