New CEO appointed..

Headhunting only the best here. Scunthorpes CEO? Wow I am utterly blown away with this appointment.

Bet he feels like he's won the lottery.

That feeling won't last Jim.

You certainly tried raising the point that the reason many are pissed off with this appointment, is because of your takeover though.

People are pissed off because the bloke is an utter failure, man.

Look at my first post, I agreed with a mackem who had posted it first. Subsequently, another made a comment about it too.

It just reeks of being "I know this bloke, he's canny, let's get him in". We need good people, the best people for the job (that we can attract). Now maybe we've done a full, wide reaching search and the best candidate also just happens, by pure coincidence, to be Methvens mate, but it doesn't fill me full of confidence. It's Donald, Methven and their mates, again

Almost like our other key positions are the same. Was Richard Hill the best candidate for his job or is it because he’s known to owners. Is Paul Reid the best candidate for his job or is it because he’s a personal friend of the owners?

Part of a pattern of Donald/Methven only picking people they know.
Nothing wrong with having a few people you know and trust working with you but think outside the box and cast the net of potential recruits beyond “Jobs for the boys”.
Reeks of pure amateurism.

This.

Until I watched STID2 I actually thought these could be good for our club.

But the whole Grigg transfer and the Coton/Hill/Methven/Donald team are a joke. An absolute shambles.

They haven’t a clue what to do at this level. Mistake after mistake after mistake.

I see he finished 3rd in Britain’s Brainiest Footballer in 2002.

Clark Carlisle was the winner, don’t know who finished 2nd. If it was Neil Ruddock I’m definitely out.

Knew Donald was bad for the club from the start.....Not for some though!

Donald isn’t, nor had any intention, of selling the club without making lots of money. That’s why he has put a stupid valuation on it. He knows nobody will pay it, so will get to keep it. He just has to give the impression that he’s trying to. And as he pretty much said in STID, people up here are thick compared to those like him down south so it’s easy to get away with.

Or put it another way, "Would he get a job or even an interview at a decent club"?????? my guess is no.

Exactly. I sort of understand hiring mates early on. If you think they're good enough, you trust them, and you need to bring a few people in then they're probably not a bad shout. The alternative is spending ages getting people in that you don't know and if they end up being dodgy as owt or really shit you've created a world of problems. Once you've got some trusted people in, however, you should then ensure they are performing, and when new roles are needed you should be able to do a full recruitment process and get the right person for the job. We shouldn't still be relying on giving Charlie's mate a shout, not for a major role like this

Aye this. Intentionally giving your mates a wage rather than hiring the best people for the job. It's not far above money laundering in morality tbh.
