Neil Killeen One day cup head coach

Just listened to Killers interview as far as the starting XI goes it looks like Dickson may still not be ready for the Surrey match and Michael Jones will miss part of the campaign when he is away with Scotland.
Lees available for the start and Rushy will lead the attack. Apparently it will be a mixture of experience and youth. By the sounds of it an experienced batting line up and s youthful bowling attack.
Although it depends what their criteria is for youthful.

Sounds good to me as long as Franklin is as far away as possible.

tbf what other options is their for the bowling attack?

i guess rushy & salisbury could lead the attack but raine is away with the 16.4 and coughlin is perma-injured.

rushy, doneathy, mcalindon, gibson is probably as good as it gets. maybe with trev & doneathy both in the top 6 meaning another spinner plays? (drissel, sowter if he is still with us?)

Agree it will be interesting to see who gets the nod. Doneathy is the one who looks to be that bits n peices all rounder who are very handy although he never got a look in during the T20.
I think the slow bowling will be done by Trevaskis and Borthwick ( interesting to see where Borthwick bats) although North talked up Maddinson bowling but if he couldn't get an over in the last championship match when the only alternative was The skipper then I'm not holding my breath.

yeah i was surprised doneathy never got in a squad even (iirc?) for either format so far.

i was kind of forgetting badger tbf as for some reason i was thinking more t20 then 50

lees/jones, clark, dickson, maddinson, bedingham, badger, trevaskis, doneathy, mackintosh, mcalindon, rushworth/gibson

looks a bit of a top heavy mess tbf. not really sure which bat you drop to bring in an extra bowler? and if on the off chance coughlin is fit

Plenty options.

Rushy
McAlindon
Doneathy - has been injured this season, but has been available for a while now
Borthwick
Maddinson
Trevaskis
Gibson
Bushnell
Salisbury
Drissell
Coughlin
Clark - he even took a wicket at Worcester

We will probably see young Mitch Killeen at some point also

Some wit (halfwit?) has altered Killer’s Wikipedia page to say that he is a supporter of Sunderland AFC of the Northern League.

Glad I wore me corset, otherwise my sides would have split.

Killeen not with the 100. Walker and Gidman will be heavily involved also. All 3 are good lads, good luck to them.

oh so walker and gidman did well last year and as a result got picked up? so i guess if killa does it'll be same again next year
Wasn’t Killeen away with a franchise last year? He said Walker and Gidman are working with him this time.

ah gotcha

Listened to Johnson (Middx head coach) interview at the end if the championship match and he said Middx hadn't been to badly hit by the 100 so is hoping to put out a strong XI so that should be a good game a week on Sunday.
