Posted earlier about this not sure why the threads been locked but tonight was my eldest first game.

OK it was a shite result but ive left tonight a happy man.

Joined in all the chants that he knew and was shouting encouragement throughout.

I was so proud of him, even at 4 nil he said to me dad, im still enjoying it and if we score ill be happy. When our goal was disallowed he said its fine at least I got to experience the atmosphere when we do score.

Then he said on the way home I still want to go again ive had an amazing time. Imagine if we win next time he goes!

This club man, just gets under your skin so easily.

Nah. Leave him out next time.

First game and 5-0 defeat, I’d be staying away if that was my first. Must feel like a right jinx. :lol:
 
Be a fun story to look back on in thirty year time for the pair of you to be fair mate. Got a lifetime of abuse coming your way from him cos of it mind :lol:

My first season going was the first at the SOL where we won every game I went to and then first season ticket was the year after when we pissed the league and got to the semi final of the league cup. All downhill from there! Opposite for your youngun.

My first ever game we were 4 nil down at half time at Roker Park. I was on my own, me dad wasn't into footy and I really wanted to go, Euro 96 had me on the buzz and started to get proper into following the game.

Coincided with a class (overall) time with Reidy in charge and fell in love.

Iverson was imperus that night. It was a night game as well, they didn't score again after half time, but what an intro.

Part of a 3 game ticket with Leeds and then Man U, with Mullen getting the winner and Mickey Gray also scoring. Glorious memories
 
My lad doesn't know he's born. Came last few games of last season.

Saw the Ballard goal, Wembley trip, unbeaten in prem at home until Feb, two Derby wins.

Tonight was a culture shock for him.

I actually mentioned this thread to my 25 year old son when we were 3-0 down 🤣 The downs are bad but the ups are great.

I am sorry that’s his first match if he wants to go back you know the next time it will be special I hope a former player on here helps out and bring you both back for a special day/night.

First game lost 5-0 at Coventry

Second game Derby 6-0 😔😁
