Years of being shite, but being allowed to remain shite because they beat Newcastle. This season, no Newcastle to donate much needed points and down the hole they go. It's not rocket science.

The wins over Newcastle were enough for those supporters, who dont appear to give a shit if the team was rubbish for the rest of the season and barely scraped into a safe position, so long as they beat Newcastle. This year the luck has run out well and truly and we stand looking at a truer representation of the sort of team that Sunderland actually has become.
