Mukiele

I'm not arguing the fan wasn't an idiot. But Mukiele is insanely stupid reacting to it on a pitch at 4-0 down. To believe you've done nothing wrong at 4-0 is massively arrogant

Who says he believes he did nothing wrong? All we know is that he reacted to some abuse. That doesn't mean he thought he'd played a flawless game.

That isn’t passion at all. Passion is fighting for the shirt on the pitch, getting stuck in, defending your position, muscling people out, busting your arse. All things substantially lacking from both Mukiele and other key players in that first half ironically

More than a little bit of a dramatic exaggeration this. Reacting to the scoreline far more than what actually happened on the pitch.

Correct great going forward at full back but very poor defensively...back to centre back and hume on the right for me
Aye he gets caught out of position loads playing fullback

Thing is he’s probably our best asset going toward aswell and has created a canny few of our goals

As great a player as he is and we have backed him constantly, hes in for shock if he thinks he wont get the same at "bigger" clubs.

I doubt PSG etc fans would be shrinking violets at being 4-0 down at half time.

Its simple for me, we back them no matter what when they put the effort in, stroll about waving your arms like a child and it will get called out.

We as fans expect players to give their all, its not a lot to expect.

Look at ELF's post tonight, hes accepted it wasnt us and wasnt good enough....

Mukiele getting constantly caught out of position in the first half and our general collective inability to win a contact at a corner. All inexcusable

He’s a bloody strange player. He’s good going forward but not good defensively at fullback, but he’s good defensively at CB. It’s true, I’m not disagreeing with you, but sounds almost contradictory.

Maybe Regis was correct with the strange Hume at RW thing

Really good player and has done really well but also has to realise that being behind 4-0 at home to a team fighting for relegation is going to cause a bit of shit from the fans
It’s as simple as this. No matter what club you're at and season you’ve had, the fans are going to be a bit agitated. Just get down the tunnel, have a cuppa and make the second half better.

Depends what they said to trigger him. We do have our fair share of f***ing idiots. Someone could well have shouted something twattish at him.
Football fan shouts something “ twattish” at player after terrible first half performance -
Aye be front page on the Echo thst like 😂

If 20 odd year old me helped give this club its best season in a decade or more and some tit shouts something derogatory when we’re having a rare off day then I’m probably running over there and doing a f***ing Cantona.

They’re professional footballers and people expect them to take it in their stride but they are young lads, passionate and emotional and his reaction says more about what he feels about the club than some daft arse having a go at him for having a crap game.

He wasn't constantly caught out of position though, again just think it's a dramatic exaggeration. Not saying he played well, obviously he didn't. Do think blaming the players for the way we defended corners is taking a lot of the flack off Le Bris and the coaching staff as well, that's where most of it should be going. It's not a one off us conceding from corners or crosses. Caught out from short corners and three times they had a spare man round the back. Players have to take some responsibility but most of that is on Le Bris and the coaching staff for how they set them up and not changing anything as it's going.

There was no lack of fight, no lack of passion. We just weren't very good and one of the very rare occasions a team takes every small half chance that falls their way. Happened to us when we won 4-0 at Palace the year we went down. We weren't as good that day as we were in some of the games the previous couple of months yet somehow we went in 4-0 up at half time even though the only half decent chance we created was Defoe's second.

Posted that before I saw the video. Someone clearly does.

Probably the fat feller in the front row barking abuse at him and making out like he wants a fist fight.
And he’s too unprofessional to deal with that? Great example from one of our leaders in the dressing room.

So you’re telling me that Regis told the players not to close down a short corner? And to not mark specific players? I find that a dramatic exaggeration. It’s much more likely that the players weren’t acting as instructed and not fully concentrating on their jobs. But yes let’s all assume it’s all Regis’ fault and sack the manager. Good post this…
