Mukiele

Perhaps the so called fans could adopt the same attitude
Do you think voicing frustration after being down four goals to a relegation threatened team before 40 mins is unreasonable? Genuine question btw. I wouldn’t have reacted like the fans Mukiele exchanged words with but I also understand why they were upset.

Anyone that was there in League One would have the emotional perspective to not lose their shit last night.
But these are Premier League (and a fair few Champions League) footballers who gave up last night - a lot did anyway. I’m not a booer but that was completely unacceptable last night, regardless of which league we played in with none of those players involved, five years ago.

They didn’t give up. Second half they at least gave it a go. They’ve given us all so much and in the first truly woeful night we’ve had people want to forget all that and turn on them. Be angry, be pissed off, be frustrated but stay in control and once the fog lifts you’ll see it for what it is. A cack performance in a brilliant season.

Unless it’s racist, which it isn’t as they have to then enact that protocol and make an announcement at the time, there’s absolutely nothing they could have said that justified Mukiele doing that

No? In your mind there's no level of offensive comment below "racist" that could make a young lad react?

Not even if they'd shouted "Fck off Mukiele, you fcking lazy cnt, you're not even trying", or "your mother moved around more in bed with me last night than you're moving today, just fck off to the dressing room and never come back!", to give a couple of examples?

I'm sure our imaginative fans could come up with no end of more hurtful and vexing things to shout at a player.

None of those are an excuse for him to have a go at the fans that pay their money to express their opinion. He's supposed to be a professional. Shouldn't even be listening to them and should be focusing on doing his f***ing job.

No it’s not. Basically what you’re saying is any time we lose that losing your head is the right and normal way to go about it.
Not at all - fans showing they were pissed off at 4-0 down isn’t losing your head imo.
It absolutely does have something to do with it. We have come on massively over the last four years. Anyone abusing players after a poor performance needs to get a grip.
Where is the evidence of abuse? Is being visibly pissed off with that performance abusing players?

I still say it depends what's shouted at him.

From the video it looks like this fat bloke in the front row is the one having a go at him. Looks pretty wound up like he's offering to fight Mukiele.

Arguably the best player I’ve ever seen play for us but his attitude at times is questionable, body language can be quite negative at times. At his best he’s fking tremendous but he was allover the shop last night tbf.

I’d say well f***ing done to anyone who was shouting any sort of abuse at mukiele/xhaka. A once in a lifetime set of players, a once in a long time season, and people will be making our best players think twice about whether they need this sort of shit in their lives. Yeah brilliant, well played. Hope you’re happy.

Sky Sports were saying he'd gone over to RLB at 0-2, I think, they were suggesting he was pointing out an issue we were having and saying how to solve it. No idea how they managed to know what his chat was about but it obviously didn't work.

Aye, it was called having a right footed right back playing at left back whilst we've left an elite level LB on the bench.

It looked bonkers pre-match and even worse 20 minutes in.

Reinildo must have still been a bit under the weather I guess. Both wingers had an easy night.

I thought the huddle was embarrassing. I thought his pop at the fans was disgusting. I thought his performance was poor.

That said I wouldn’t single him out last night. Most of the trouble came down their right with Hutchison, or Ballard / roefs / alderete being unable to play out.

His “effort” for the fifth was a disgrace though. Lost the ball up the pitch and stood and watched with hands on hips
Tell you what I thought was more disgusting, our fans booing them lads off at half time then f***ing off home.
Ah God he's back.... something bad must have happened.....
While he mostly talks shite, I actually think he has a point here.

They would get stick at any club in the world if they’re 4-0 at half-time, at home.

Arsenal fans had Xhaka in tears and giving them the finger once iirc.
