We are going backwards. We have tried to become much more of a possession based team.
Last season we kept the ball but it always had some thrust about it. This season we are happy passing it around at the back and infant of teams.
The high pressing and more direct game that Neil had us playing is slowly being diluted.
The whole point of Sunderland is to be relentless, every time we have the ball try and score, pin them in high press, crunching tackles. Get the fans going.
Now its pass it about until Patrick or Jack get a little space and can beat a man.
