You included Teeside as part of your argument previously. Extend it to the nth degree, don't just decide you're going to use another set of parameters.

sunderlands and newcastles support has been poor in the past too.96-97 you were in the premier and yet couldnt fill roker park which only held 22,000.
last time sunderland went down you lost 12,000 overnight.

Its not just the size though is it? I take my nephews to the match occassionally who are boro supporters & they always comment on how much better the atmosphere is at SAFC.

The atmosphere at the riverside is shocking & the quality of the songs from your lot on Sunday was very poor.
 
Just had a look at the stats it's citing. Yes, Sunderland had 30 children who were placed in care because of sexual abuse (note - not how many were actually subject to it) but there are no categories for Washington/Houghton etc' meaning Sunderland is counted as the City of Sunderland as in Washington/Houghton as well. If you look up the stats for Teeside (including 'boro, Stockton and Redcar & Cleveland) it comes to a grand total of... 25.

Multiply that by whichever population correction factor you want, you'll find that there are more known cases of child abuse relative to population on Teeside and, quite probably, more unknown ones. As they say, there's no smoke without fire.
 
When I said Boro fans are shit, I wasn't only referring to their abysmal crowds (I've noticed the odd 14K this season :oops:) but their shit songs, tiny repertoire and grim, shit atmosphere.

I was curious to know why they are so abysmal.
