More erasing of history...

I certainly think that the huge sacrifices of millions of people in the Second World War deserve no better tribute than insufferable bellends like Julia Hartley-Brewer and My Boy Harry using it to generate imaginary grievance about their f***ing tedious idea of woke

Desperate gammon.

I mean if MBH or JHB were actually bothered they could have googled it to find out if any women played any part in the success of D Day

You know, if they really cared about people who sometimes feel like they've been a bit erased from history like the thread title says

So that's

Grieving parents

Victims of prostate cancer

D day veterans

They have weaponised for political gain

And that's just in the last 5 days

Starmer thinks there were women taking part on the D-Day landings...well of course he does!

There were 100,000's of women in uniform on D-Day.

There were also medical staff onboard ships that were in harms way on June 6th 1944.

In the Second World War, the rifle companies and armoured divisions were in the minority and were the "tip of the spear".

No doubt MBH will be along soon to address your response, the way he and his fellow idiots always* do when they post this garbage on the Politics board

And we're eternally grateful to them.
Thanks for clarifying they were not on the beaches. Someone should tell Starmer, because that is specifically what he refers to in his post.
Then again, recently, he was unsure what a woman actually is, so maybe some of them were trans women? Anything is possible, I suppose, in this new ludicrous, leftist clownworld we've all been subject to.

There are two ways to interpret his tweet.

Option 1, the sensible way.

Women worked in factories producing vehicles, clothing, weapons, ammunition and more. They may not have been in the fighting, but women all over the world played a crucial role in the war.

Option 2, the idiotic way.

There weren't any women on the frontlines, what's he on about?

British nurses landed on Juno beach a few days after the initial wave while the troops were trying to connect the beachheads. The lead nurses slept in a dug out trench on the first night, they helped set up field hospitals and evacuate wounded under bombardment of German artillery.

You should stop trying to rewrite history as a coping mechanism and stick to self-flagellation like your chosen avatar.

I'm happy to start putting birth control pills in my bird feeders

Noooo.

I’d like to apply that principle to the cats that shit in my garden.

Actually I’d vote for an illustration on a bank note of a cat dropping its turds in an English garden. Just to piss off people who have cats.

Female SOE agents.

People get themselves so worked up about nowt. It's insane.
Manufactured outrage.

We've just got over Easter eggs not having the word Easter on them enough times.

There were women parachuting in behind enemy lines and on the front line, and involved in intelligence efforts that got them tortured and killed.

However for the purposes of today's undignified manufactured outrage, My Boy Harry is only interested in contributions to the war effort that took place on sand. Two or three of the beaches used for Operation Overlordsl actually don't count and their sacrifice isn't acknowledged for the purposes of this argument because the coastal surface was too pebbly to qualify.
