I think those saying he is good must just mean that he is fast.
Good players with pace are not available for £4m.
That being said, Watmore isn't good, but his pace causes havoc. It's not a bad option to have.
This. Not going to lie, I haven't watched him much but all I remember is that he's fast as fuck. Ideally you'd like some talent too but even just raw pace is an asset. Teams are a bit more reluctant to push up when they know a team has someone who might be able to get behind them, it's an outlet if we're under the cosh. Pickford has the ability to put a ball fairly accurately into space, again that's best when a fast player can chase it. We know this because we've seen how much a fairly average footballer with pace like Watmore has been missed. Pace on the wing and a striker and I'll be happy with our January. Sell Khazri who doesn't get a look in anyway and we'll not be far off breaking even at the same time
