Mitch Killeen joining Essex

Essex coach Chris Silverwood and Neil Kileen are good mates.

Maybe that is one of the reasons (not the main one) Mitchell decided to go there.

The fact he is playing club cricket up here may suggest he is homesick being so far from his roots.
It would be a significant factor-I suspected Dad's influence. Likewise with Coggers who is big mates with Lancs captain Jennings.
Crass decision not to offer him better terms at Durham -he was far from the finished product but despite recent signings we're still short of bowling options.

To be fair it might be more that the standard of club cricket up here is much better and more competitive for him than it would be down there. It always used to be the case.
