Exactly how I felt.Have said this on here before but Durham can afford to do one of either ditching local talent or losing games. Not both as they are now.
Even when doing well last year I lost a bit of interest as the local quota was going down.
In McKinney, Hogg and Minto we still have a few big prospects though so not all is lost.
I genuinely haven't got a clue what is going on with this club this season (I was going to say this club of ours but as each month goes by it seems to becoming more and more unrecognisable).
I wish Mitch all the best and its probably safe to say he'll have more chance of playing First Division cricket next season than his team mates he's leaving behind.

100% agreeI want 8 or 9 local lads in the side personally, that’s my dream, it’s harder with batsman BHT Durham should always have bowlers
Maybe I’m naive in that but I don’t have the affiliation to players just signed from elsewhere, it’s not why I follow county cricket
I still stand by my post above this but I’m not as attached to Durham as I should be in that is the reason why, being bottom of the Cc div 1 wouldn’t bother me if we were investing in our own, but we aren’t.
I hope he realises how incredibly expensive even the smallest flat is in Essex. Sharing a place will be the only way for a long while unless he gets a Hundred contract! He was offered the exact same deal he's on now for another two years, but Essex have been looking at him for a while and offered significantly better terms.
Going to share a place with a couple of other pros that he knows, (Benks Jnr is one I think).
I'm sure he'll have been very well advised by his father.I hope he realises how incredibly expensive even the smallest flat is in Essex. Sharing a place will be the only way for a long while unless he gets a Hundred contract!
Probably moving along with his mum and dad. He's only 20.I hope he realises how incredibly expensive even the smallest flat is in Essex. Sharing a place will be the only way for a long while unless he gets a Hundred contract!
The club have now confirmed McAlindon's departure.

I thought he had some raw potential but seems to have stalled the last 2 seasons, shame.
That's not peculiar to Durham but probably more pronounced there I'm convinced that it's down to the sedentary lifestyle of youngsters nowadays. Get off your @rse and walk everywhere, play outdoor games during the school hols. Sitting watching 16.4 promoting unhealthy food probably doesn't help either.Injuries haven't helped. Part of the game I guess, looked alright at times but sport can be ruthless and he's fallen foul of injuries. However something I've said on here numerous times especially this season, the amount of injuries our bowlers have had this season points towards something wrong in the fitness/conditioning etc etc within the club. It's simply not bad luck in my opinion.
