Mitch has played his last game for Durham and is having his contract terminated by mutual consent.

Is there something more behind this ?

Or does he just want to find a new contract this summer rather than in the winter?

Durham trying to cut the wage bill further.

Durham have been offering Claydon about for a while for a move or loan. He's got another year after this one, and I can't see Durham paying the full contract up so maybe something has come up with another club.

Must have done, yep

He's 30 now and just wants to play regular 1st team cricket which he's not getting at Durham, simple as.

Claydon appears to be one of the victims of Collys preference for his seamers to bowl line and length in championship cricket rather than those who have an extra yard of pace. Good luck to him hope it works out for him.
The squad for next year could be very interesting to see at the star of the season. Durham now must have the smallest squad on the circuit.

Gloucershire showed a interest in him on loan but wouldn't pay all of his wages. Might be that leaving Durham will give him the best chance of finding a new permanent contract.

Nice lad by the way. Always found him very pleasant and easy to talk to. Best of luck to him.

Seems to have really fallen down the pecking order in the last 12 months which was a surprise as he was solid enough and seemed to be highly thought of, but I think overall he's not quite consistent enough to be a regular in a first division team. Good squad member at best, nice lad like so hope to see him move on to another county soon.

Would be a great signing for any Division two club.

He obviously picks up a decent wage here if Gloucester cant afford him.
