How? The club have took reasonable precautions by supplying extra stewards and moving away fans tree rows back? As they have took reasobable precautions then they will not be held liable..

It's a totally ludicrous argument.

The club wouldn't be held liable, there will be nets, there will be no open letter and no one will 'caution' the club ....

... it's all just pointless blather on the internet from the SMB amateur barristers.

and you pay for it!

I don't care, have you ever seen me complain.

good for you. i'd rather be a sunderland fan in league 1 that have to tell people i'm a west ham fan . a truly vile club. only thing i liked about west ham was upton park, and yous even fucked that up. at least the stadium propelled you into the champions league i suppose

They have also closed the first three rows for away fans.. What more could they do?
This is the thing.... is it pretty much agreed that the issues are the stewarding and policing? Can the club do anything about that? If so, have they?
The location of the away fans is an issue but can that be changed? If so when?

I really am not hating on the club. I do think this is a serious issue and would see it resolved before anyone is seriously hurt.

i wish you, and others, would stop stating this. its not an issue. stop being so hysterical. this missiles thing happened once, in over 200 games. the club will act accordingly and increase the stewarding and police, and maybe train the stewards better. possibly pay them more. stop making it into something that it isnt.

Ok I see your point BUT is it true that Newcastle fans are turning up just to attack our fans? Is it possible that other fans will try and attack our fans? If so and someone is seriously hurt that would be absolutely awful.

If the opposition supporters are side by side they can just as easily throw things at each other.

What then, more nets

I personally think there is a good chance it will happen again tomorrow, they are a pretty vile bunch of supporters from what I saw down Wembley and over the years

It’s probably been mentioned, but after Coventry, things have changed for away fans. The first few rows in the upper are now empty, and those Pompey fans with tickets in that area tomorrow, will be moved into the corner. The reasoning:

1) it stop bellends like those three Coventry cowards from creating a scene
2) it provides an area for the police/stewards to stand to better monitor the crowd.

There is also now changes to the drink arrangements in the away end - no plastic bottles.

I do actually feel sorry for genuine Pompey fans because they would have been given an extra 1000 tickets had Coventry not been total dicks

So if they did move the fans to the lower tiers what would stop them throwing coins sideways? The club have done everything they possibly could to prevent this happening, but if some idiot is determined to throw something then nothing could prevent that..

I've got absolutely no idea what you are on about and especially no idea how it is relevant to the thread.

Its usual 'oh my kid choked on a crisp BAN ALL CRISPS NOW!!'' modern nonsense

I'm amazed some people dare leave the house

Get the stewards & police to actually do something instead of just stand & watch would be a good start in the short term. If someone throws something get them ejected immediately & set an example to others, instead of letting it become a free for all & then going through CCTV afterwards

My SC is in the north stand and I was livid after the Coventry match (as you can probably tell from my posts on this thread ). Having, however, spoken to few different people concerning the incident, I now acknowledge that the club took all the necessary precautions. Ulimately, the sheer numbers of dickheads within Coventry’s support made it almost impossible to police.

The police/stewards can manage a minority being disruptive, but it was a majority of Coventry fans that were either causing trouble/or happy for it to take place.
