Surely we can't be daft enough to sell bottles on the concourse.

The one that just missed my daughter was a full bottle of Coke. When we've been to away fixtures you are given the bottle with no top. Somebody should have told our catering staff this!

This is unacceptable and there is no excuse for tolerating this. The club has a duty of care to spectators and if the stewards refuse to do their job then the club must be liable.

The sheer lack of safety from th Stewarding and police has to be dealt with by the club.. Sheer embarrassment to think they were willing to put the home fans safety at risk all while just watching it happen.

Safety of the Sunderland fans was not a priority for police or stewards today. They couldn’t have been less interested it felt like, especially those police stood down North West corner, only moved on 70 mins. I saw a fair few with kids etc leave the stand to protect them from all the stuff being chucked.

Also heard a steward tell a fan to fuck off for daring to complain at half time...

If I'd been there I'd have kicked off with the coppers like, just not good enough, in a sense Coventry fans can do what they want, but its the police's jobs to enforce the law and stop them from doing it

The way the stewards went on with the Sunderland fans today was disgraceful too. I saw one steward try to kick out a lad in the south stand because there was an empty bottle of beer on the floor by his seat. Blatantly wasn’t his as he’d just got back to his seat after half time. Eventually he walked away and chucked some other lad out (who may or may not have had a bottle)

It stopped eventually, so either they ran out of missiles, or something was done that worked.

But it was too late and not enough.

It's not exaggerating to say that there's risk of serious injury or death when full bottles of beer and coke can be launched to your head from 20, 30 ft up.

They were even reaching to north stand lower tier

I have a ST in the north and it was constant for a while. I had to get the bairn to put her hat on, hood up and I kinda sat with my body over her in case anything came down our way.
Bottles, coins, flairs, pies.

Ffs there was even bottles of booze. Any safc fan tries and drinks booze in the seat gets lifted!!

My bairns 7 and she actually pointed out to me that some parents were leaving with kids to get away from it. I asked if she wanted to go but she said no so I just sat covering her head
