Let's see what Regis thinks.

99% of Sunderland supporters would have shipped Mayenda out before the start of this season but Regis saw something in him and he and his coaching staff have developed and improved him.

They've obviously worked intensely on his finishing as after missing a few one on ones he finished the season as a deadly finisher.

We might see rbe same levelling up in Aleksic.

My big prediction for 2025-26 is that Ahmed Abdullahi is going break into the team.

The lad has definitely got talent, however he really needs games right now to push on. So I'm expecting a loan to hopefully a championship club as I doubt they'll risk him in the prem...

I never understood why he wasn’t even getting a game for the U21’s ? Surely playing some football would have been better for him than just sitting getting sores on his backside.

All these predictions just become so much harder in the prem. It’s just a diff level

Championship is perfect to give people game time
 
Could end up sitting on a bench in the Championship. Send him to League One, was perfect for the likes of Beckham.

With Mayenda though I thought he actually looked quite exciting, albeit very raw, in the fleeting appearances he made after coming back from injury just before Mowbray was sacked. Then Beale came in, Rusyn finally scored and was always going to be first choice from then on so it made sense for Mayenda to go and build up fitness on loan. Whereas Aleksic couldn't get a look in in the Championship and we've since been promoted. He may surprise us but the likelihood is he's a long way away from the Prem.
