Mike Hendrick RIP

Former Derbyshire and England bowler dies aged 72.

I can remember him playing around late 70s/early 80s. I think he has the distinction of taking most test wickets for England without taking a five-fer.

Seemed a decent bloke. RIP.
Good bowler reminded me a bit of Andy Caddick, tall back of a length seamer.

He was a great slip fielder as well. Unusual for a pace bowler

And swung it miles.
Didn’t give you much to hit and no half volleys
Lovely picture, I’m trying to recognise them all - John Lever?, Botham, Hendrick, Bob Taylor?, Geoff Miller?, Randall, Emburey, Geoffrey.

Is that right?
I think you are mate

England had a cracking seam attack around that time, all with something a little different. Willis, Old, Hendrick and John Lever. Iirc they went to India and won against expectations
