Mick Beale

didnt think he was gerrards assitant at Villa..could be wrong like but i thought he was QPR manager then..and critchley..now the hearts manager..was gerrards assistant then?
He was first team coach. Gerrard knew him from his time as Liverpool youth coach, took him to Rangers then Villa. Then Beale left to take the QPR manager's job.

Still think he wasn't given a fair run here.
He wasn't, but he should never have been given the job in the first place after the uproar from fans was obvious. The football really wasn't all that different than under Mowbray that season, but neither of them had the squad to do the business.

I said at the time he was appointed, his success or failure lies squarely with Speakman and KLD. The fans didn't want him, but they didn't back him or give him the tools he needed to do the job.

I'm sure he went there with him?

I may be wrong like.
He was according to the Birmingham Mail (I had to look it up as I wasn't sure either)

"Steven Gerrard, the former Aston Villa manager, has moved to bring in his former assistant Michael Beale to join him at Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League, according to reports."
