Michael Carrick

They should get top 4 on that showing, especially with just one hame a week fir tge rest of the season
 

Impressed by the start he has had at Man Utd, maybe with good players he can get a tune out of them and maybe be a surprise success for Man Utd, at Boro with weaker players it went stale and he just kept giving excuses. Too early to tell for him but they were brilliant against Man city today.
 
Ferguson should be banned from Old Trafford. Any new manager has him watching from the stands and he must have influence with the owners etc. This puts them under pressure from the start.

I actually don’t mind Carrick as a manager but totally agree. Carrick saying “checked in to get Sir Alex’s blessing” when he got the job is pathetic.

Ferguson should acknowledge this and take himself away

Really don't think he's any chance of getting it full time, although I could see him staying on as an assistant to whoever they get.
Was listening to a podcast last week with Rooney who is still good mates with him and he was saying he doesn't really like being a manager and would be happier as an assistant which seems strange given the spotlight he's put himself under.

Think he would make a really good no.2 but most managers/coaches want to bring their own people in to key roles.
 
As I've said previously, but no doubt it'll prove wrong, but I haven't seen man u play this well.for years.
I like Carrick, he could be what they need. Probably with a second in command with significant European competition experience .
 
World loved him when the smogs were playing sexy football then it all went wrong..he's actually got an excellent first eleven at united and that's including Cunha off the bench..keeper is horrid tho
 
He might do ok.
He was maybe a bit average at Boro but he got some experience under his belt.
They have good players at Man U. If a manager keeps them happy and doesn’t do wacky crap like Amorim did they could be fine.
Alternatively it could all go to pot

Carrick started off his Boro career excellently.
When he took over we were in (or very close to) the bottom three, and we very nearly went up automatically that season.
The football was outstanding and exciting too.

Why we didn't kick on under him was imo down to a few factors.
His best players were often sold (mid season sometimes)
He could have done with an experienced assistant to help with tactics etc .
He wouldn't (or didn't know how to) change his system to counterract opponents that were obviously sussing us out.

As long as he's learnt that he needs to change tactics at times, and the fact that he is working with better players (who should be able to play to his system), together with a decent sidekick, I reckon he'll do well there.
Hope so cos I've nothing against him, just a shame things didn't work out with us the end.

He will be sacked once other teams will found out the way his tactic are. He will never change since boro. Boro fans frustrated with his same tactics and defence were all over the place after 6th months in charge.

They have played two games. Far too early to judge anything. Two good results but they have done ok in those kind fo games in the past. The test will be whether they can be consistent in the games that they "should" win.
