I’d argue attendances would be higher if you could pay in cash (easier for kids and older folk); pay on the day at the turnstiles (walk ups are a big part of football support); and be able to pay on the day at turnstiles (card or cash).

To be fair the club did its research and found very little people were using cash turnstile over the last 5 years.

yes of course theydid..they lied and so did short..they all told so many lies around the time the club was purcgaed..thats why i dont refer to them i refer to club accounts, company house filings and statements from neutral parties....cos donald lied a lot and short lied a lot they arent reliable witnesses.

well he is..its a statement of fact-the club hasnt funded itself for years-even the parachute money wasnt enough..and the previous owner had that anyway.

if we have record attendances with the ticket office closed..that demonstrates it didnt need opening as, despite the bleating on here, its it hurt attendances?
the club shop is supposed to make money, not cost money....its supposed to contribute to the funding of the club..not cost teh club..
safc has reled on someone else funding it for a very long time

This is the 4th season the three amigos have been "funding the club", if they can't get a club bringing in 30,000 fans in L1 promoted while running at cost then that's on them.

Dreyfus obviously feels that Methven's involvement benefits the club otherwise he would be completely sidelined. I do not know in what capacity he represents the club but as he is clearly an intelligent man, is very well connected and is a 'football man' (he was in the away end when Oxford were thrashed 7.0 at the Sol) I tend to agree. I acknowledge however that I am not close enough to the club to know the full facts of the position, being only a season ticket holder since the 1961/62 season.

But attendances would be bigger and we are stopping people attending. Older folk (especially those with degenerative brain diseases) struggle with change. If we’re inclusive as a club we should have all ticket buying options available.

why is it a disaster? people go onhere about KLDs extensive experience in football (which is a total myth) methven has far more experience than KLD of working at the top end of the football industry..though ironiclly the bit he seems less good at is the PR.

I dont think KLD cares much about PR...which is probably a positive and why he owns the club through a very secretive offshore coproratio

The club didn't buy itself from Short. Madrox bought it, using the club's money for some of it. Madrox borrowed the club's money to do it. It's there in black and white in the accounts which you keep saying you rely on for your facts.

Attendances are bigger this year because the team is I playing better! That’s how it works. If you had cash payments then they’d be higher still in my opinion.

I thought he was a journalist turned flack? Or are you counting his time at Oxford, Eastleigh and us (from the point we were on the brink of being an insolvent basket case and available to buy on the cheap) as "the top end of the football industry"?
